Read This News: Petrobras Hires Engineering Services for Decommissioning of Subsea Systems of Three FPSOs
Petrobras has launched a bidding process to hire engineering, preparation, removal, and disposal (EPRD) services, which will be used to decommission the remaining subsea structures from the FPSOs Cidade do Rio de Janeiro, Cidade de Rio das Ostras, and Piranema, which have already been demobilized from projects in the Campos and Sergipe-Alagoas basins, respectively.
According to the website Petronotícias, on October 13, Petrobras will open the envelopes with proposals from bidding companies. The bidding, which will have national coverage, will take place in an open dispute mode, and the price competition will begin on October 14. In addition to the engineering, preparation, removal, and disposal services, Petrobras’s bidding will also contract the alienation activities, in the condition of scrap, of materials from the ports of the subsea systems belonging to the three FPSOs. The bidding evaluation criterion will be the best combination, with the lowest price for Petrobras, considering the difference between the contract service proposals’ value of EPRD and the alienation contract proposal’s value.
According to the website Petronotícias, the FPSO Rio de Janeiro system from Petrobras, which produced in the Espadarte field in the Campos Basin, will involve the decommissioning of 10 wells and 132 km of flexible lines. Concerning the subsea equipment from the FPSO Piranema, which produced in the eponymous field in Sergipe-Alagoas, activities will cover nine wells and the recovery of 120 km of flexible pipes and risers. Finally, in the FPSO Rio das Ostras, previously installed in the Tartaruga Verde, Tartaruga Mestiça, and Espadarte fields, the work will involve two wells and 21.1 km of flexible lines.
