According to the Unified Federation of Oil Workers, the document will be signed electronically this Tuesday (15). In the new agreement, Petrobras commits not to dismiss for just cause for the period of two years.

The collective labor agreement does not foresee a salary adjustment on the base date (September 1) this year, only in September next year, when it will be corrected according to the National Consumer Price Index (INPC). But the entity highlights the maintenance of rights for two years and the inclusion of a job security clause.

According to the FUP, having an agreement “established for two years amidst the complex political and economic context that profoundly impacts the Brazilian people is an achievement, especially in light of the serious attacks facing public sector workers and state-owned companies.” It adds that “oil workers will have the breath to face the greatest battle, which is the defense of the Petrobras System.”

Upcoming Struggles

According to the president of the Sindipetro of Paraná and Santa Catarina, Alexandro Guilherme Jorge, “Our upcoming struggles should be to halt the privatization of Petrobras and its exit from southern Brazil, as well as to recover any losses felt during this delicate moment.”
