The Safe Eurus Accommodation Unit, Built at the Cosco Qidong Shipyard in China, Will Join Other National Operations Starting Now

Prosafe, a leading company in the provision of floating accommodations for the offshore industry, announced that the third unit of its fleet, named Safe Eurus, has commenced operations in Brazil.

The vessel, which is a semi-submersible accommodation platform, has been contracted by Petrobras, the Brazilian state energy giant, to provide support services for maintenance and safety operations in the Campos Basin.

The Safe Eurus has been designed to be highly efficient and versatile, with the capacity to accommodate 500 people on board and operate in deep waters. It was built at the Cosco Qidong shipyard in China and will join two other units of Prosafe’s fleet already operating in Brazil: the Safe Concordia and the Safe Notos.

Contract Scope and Values

The contract between Petrobras and Prosafe for the Safe Eurus has a duration of three years, with an option to extend for another year. The estimated total value of the contract is approximately US$ 73 million. This agreement further solidifies Prosafe’s presence in Brazil, a market with significant growth potential in the offshore accommodation services sector.

Jesper Kragh Andresen, CEO of Prosafe, expressed his satisfaction with the start of operations for the Safe Eurus and emphasized the importance of the Brazilian market for the company. “We are excited to have the opportunity to expand our presence in Brazil, working with Petrobras, and we are confident that the Safe Eurus will contribute to the safety and efficiency of offshore operations in the Campos Basin,” said Andresen.
