The measure directly benefits 21 families living in the Portelinha community, located in the rural area of the municipality of Alta Floresta D’Oeste.
According to the deputy, the release of funds will allow the city hall to carry out the work and ensure a solution to the historic water supply problem faced by residents.
Community Faces Water Difficulties for Decades
Currently, residents rely on a spring located in the mountains to obtain water. The system is considered unstable due to climatic variations throughout the year.
During the intense rainfall period in winter, the water flows powerfully, making it difficult to control the flow in the piping used by the community.
In the dry season, the situation becomes more critical as the spring nearly disappears, leaving families without regular access to water.
Rural producer Cleidesa Morais reported that the problem has been persistent in the community for many years.
She stated that the funds released will allow for the establishment of the artesian well, considered an old dream for residents.
Cleidesa explained that during the rainy season, the water from the spring comes in strong, and does not stay in the pipes. During the dry season, the flow decreases drastically.
The resident also stated that the current scarcity is greater than in previous years.
Residents Report Impact of Water Shortage on Daily Life
Rural producer Aloir Hebert has lived in the community for more than two decades and reported that access to water has always been a constant difficulty.
He stated that drilling the artesian well could represent a significant change in the daily lives of families in the region.
According to the resident, the community has been dealing with water scarcity for over 20 years, a situation that hinders daily agricultural activities.
Action Involves Partnership Between Legislative and City Hall
According to Deputy Ezequiel Neiva, the demand reached his office through Councilman Jeremias, who presented the indication to meet the community’s needs.
After receiving the request, the deputy stated that he sought to secure the funds for the city hall of Alta Floresta D’Oeste to carry out the drilling of the artesian well.
He declared that the initiative involves cooperation between the municipal legislative body, the local executive, and his mandate in the State Assembly.
The deputy also highlighted that the goal of the project is to ensure water security for the 21 families of the Portelinha community.
According to him, the implementation of the artesian well will also contribute to strengthening agricultural production and improving living conditions for residents.
The Expectation Now Is for the Execution of the Project
With the funds already released for the city hall, the community’s expectation now focuses on the execution of the project.
The implementation of the artesian well is awaited by residents as a solution to the unstable water supply they have faced for years.
The work is expected to ensure continuous access to water for the 21 families living in the region.
For residents, drilling the well represents a concrete change in the local reality and access to a resource considered essential for life in the rural community.
