The Progress of the Work: 30% Completed with Projection for Completion in 2026
The construction of the Guaratuba Bridge is going full steam ahead. According to the October 2024 report published this Wednesday (06), the project has reached the mark of 30% executed, representing more than a quarter of the work completed.
In six months of intense work, the project has followed the schedule rigorously.
The focus has been on infrastructure, highlighting the piles of the stayed and pre-cast sections, and the manufacturing of the girders that will support the bridge.

Details of Execution: How the Bridge Is Being Built
So far, 24 piles have been completed, with 14 in the stayed section and 10 in the pre-cast section.
In total, the project foresees the construction of 64 piles, with 40 piles in the pre-cast section and 24 in the stayed section.
Additionally, 37 girders have already been manufactured, with the goal of reaching a total of 160 by the end of the project.
The cross girders have also started to be assembled, with four already completed and 22 expected to complete the bridge’s structure.
The engineer from the Department of Roads of Paraná (DER/PR), Larissa Vieira, stated that the progress of the work is within what was planned.
“The progress has been visible, with quality, safety, and efficiency. Our goal is to deliver a project that will become a landmark for the coastline of Paraná”, highlighted the engineer.
Economic Impact and Jobs in Paraná
The Guaratuba Bridge project has already had a significant impact on the local economy.
So far, more than 415 workers are directly involved in the construction, and by the end of 2024, this number is expected to reach 600 people.
The expectation is that the completion of the bridge, scheduled for April 2026, will bring significant benefits for tourism and the economy of the Paraná coastline.
Furthermore, the project is being carried out by a multidisciplinary team, composed of engineers, biologists, sailors, oceanographers, bricklayers, welders, among other professionals, who work tirelessly to ensure that the project becomes a reality.

Million Investments and Real-Time Monitoring
The Government of Paraná, through the DER/PR, is investing R$ 386.9 million in the construction of the Guaratuba Bridge.
To ensure transparency and monitoring of the work, the activities can be monitored in real time, through monitoring cameras available on the official project website (https://www.pontedeguaratuba.pr.gov.br/).
According to the latest figures, the investment in October was R$ 104,699,377.72.
The Bridge will have 1,244 meters in length, with four traffic lanes, two safety lanes, sidewalks with bike lanes, and a protection system with rigid concrete barriers and guardrails at the ends.
A Project Decades in the Making: The Timeline of the Guaratuba Bridge
The Construction of the Bridge officially began on April 30, 2024, with the issuance of the Installation License by the State Secretariat of Infrastructure and Logistics.
Throughout the months, various milestones have already been achieved, such as the 1st concreting of piles in the pre-cast section (May), the installation of the crane at the construction site (July), and the 1st cross girder completed (September).
