With the Privatization of Pampulha Airport in Minas Gerais, CCR Group Will Be Responsible for Operating 20 Terminals
On Wednesday, February 2, the CCR Group and the government of the State of Minas Gerais finalized the signing of the privatization contract for Carlos Drummond de Andrade Airport (Pampulha Airport), located in Belo Horizonte, the capital of Minas Gerais. The negotiation took place through the State Secretary of Infrastructure and Mobility (Seinfra), wherein CCR acquired the airport concession for a sum of R$ 34 million, with a premium of 245.29%.

The privatization contract includes the operation and maintenance of the airport for a period of 30 years, anticipating a total of R$ 151 million during this period. From this budget, approximately R$ 65 million will be invested in the first 36 months, which will be allocated, among other services, to build a general aviation terminal, a taxiway system, partial runway pavement recovery, and preparation for new hangars.
Cristiane Gomes, president of CCR Airports, stated that the company’s goal with the airport privatization is to provide the best infrastructure and quality services for customers, in order to invest in the development of the Pampulha region. Thus, CCR will also contribute to the development of the city of Belo Horizonte by working towards expanding the economy of the municipality and the state of Minas Gerais.

With the privatization of Pampulha Airport, CCR Group will be responsible for operating 20 terminals. Of these airports, 15 were acquired in the auction of the 6th Round of Airport Concessions in April 2021 and are in a transition phase with Infraero to begin operations.

In Brazil, CCR Group is already responsible for operating Tancredo Neves International Airport in the city of Confins, also in the state of Minas Gerais, in the metropolitan region of Belo Horizonte. CCR is responsible for the operation of three international terminals – in Quito, Ecuador; San Jose, Costa Rica; and Curaçao in the Dutch Antilles.
