State Government Offers 8 Thousand Slots in Free Courses Through Minas Forma
Those seeking professional qualification in Minas Gerais have a great opportunity ahead. The State Government, through the Minas Forma program, is offering more than 8 thousand slots in free courses targeted at the Tourism and Culture sectors. The program, which is executed by the State Secretariat for Social Development of Minas Gerais (Sedese-MG) in partnership with Senac-MG, has already made 1,460 slots available for September, and by the end of 2024, more than 150 classes will be in operation.
Free Courses in Minas Forma for Those Who Need It Most
The Minas Forma primarily targets individuals in situations of social vulnerability, registered in CadÚnico, especially young people aged 18 to 29 and women over 40 years old. However, the initiative is open to all residents of Minas Gerais experiencing vulnerability, including those with disabilities. The first phase of the program focuses on training professionals in the Tourism and Culture sectors, with 356 classes distributed across 101 municipalities in the state.
To participate, interested individuals must be between 16 and 18 years old, depending on the course, and in some cases, provide proof of schooling or prior experience. The courses range from 35 to 100 hours in duration and, in addition to the qualification, students receive a scholarship that can vary from R$ 210 to R$ 600, depending on the workload and attendance in classes.

“The benefit of R$ 6 per hour of class is a way to ensure that the student can travel to the course and have a snack without worry. It is a gesture of support and encouragement for these individuals to study and achieve their financial independence”, explained Arthur Campos, Undersecretary of Productive Inclusion, Work, Employment and Income of Sedese-MG.
Registration and First Day of Class
Interested individuals can register in two ways: in person, at Senac units or at support points in participating municipalities, or online, through the Sedese-MG website. It is necessary to present personal documents at the time of registration.
The city of Betim, in the Metropolitan Region of Belo Horizonte, was one of the first to start classes. In August, a class of 20 students began the Improvement Course in Kitchen Services, taught at the central unit of Senac in Betim. Among the students was Flávia Reis, 43, who highlighted the importance of continuous professional updating. “There is a lot of prejudice with age, so I always carry a load of knowledge, and knowledge is power. New things are arriving, and we have to be on top of everything”, said Flávia.
Students in Betim also had the opportunity to debut the Senac truck, a space equipped with kitchen utensils for practical classes.
Courses and Locations
The Minas Forma will offer slots in free courses throughout September in 28 cities, with 62 confirmed classes already. The available courses include Basic Techniques for Waiters, Basic Techniques for Housekeepers, Digital Marketing Tools, Visitor Guide, among others, focused on hospitality and services. Cities such as Belo Horizonte, Juiz de Fora, Uberlândia, and Montes Claros, in addition to 97 other locations, will have classes over the coming months.
To learn more about how to register, interested individuals should consult the program’s execution schedule on the Sedese-MG website or contact participating Senac units directly. All details about the courses and municipalities served by the Minas Forma are available online, where it is also possible to access schedules and other relevant information.
