The Demand For Wet Christmas Trees (ANM) May Reach 1290 Units By 2025, Which Guarantees An Average Of Approximately 260 Annual Units.
This year, about 11 wet Christmas trees (ANM) will be ordered by oil companies operating in Brazil, according to forecasts from the consulting firm Westwood. Brazil Will Have Billion-Dollar Investment In Offshore And Onshore Oil Exploration Activities This Year 2021

Speaking globally, Westwood states that the demand for ANM may total up to 224 units, considering the price of the Brent barrel around US$ 50. Of the 224 units, 137 wet Christmas trees (ANM) are considered by Westwood as firm, 51 as likely and 32 as possible.
Globally, in the past year, 153 wet Christmas trees were ordered by the oil and gas industry, representing a 33% decrease compared to 2019.
Westwood believes that medium-term projections, up to 2025, indicate that demand for the equipment may reach 1290 units, ensuring an average of approximately 260 annual units.
Of which, 43% will come from the demand for projects in Latin America due to the evolution of pre-salt projects and in the Stabroek block in Guyana.
Understand How A Wet Christmas Tree (ANM) Works
The most commonly used ANM in oil exploration in Brazil and worldwide is called conventional or vertical. It is fitted at the wellhead and connected to a production adapter base (BAP), a set that supports the control and flow lines, directly connected to the well. The ANM is a block forged in a special metal alloy, with several manual and hydraulic valves, primarily aimed at controlling the pressure of liquids at the well’s output.
The horizontal wet Christmas tree operates similarly but is characterized by the elimination of the need for a production adapter base. In this configuration, the ANM itself acts as this base, and its valves are mounted on the side.
