Cederj Launches Entrance Exam with More Than 7,000 Spots in 17 Free Semi-Presential Courses in Various Areas, Including Options in Library Science and Physics.
The Center for Distance Higher Education of the State of Rio de Janeiro (Cederj) has just opened registrations for the 2025.1 entrance exam, offering 7,743 spots in 17 free undergraduate courses in the semi-presential modality. With this initiative, Cederj aims to democratize access to quality higher education, facilitating the academic training of those who wish to attend college without leaving their city or even their home. Registrations can be made until November 24, exclusively online, with a fee of R$ 89.90.

How the Selection Process Works
The entrance exam of Cederj follows a very accessible selection process, allowing students from different regions of Rio de Janeiro to have the chance to compete for a spot in the free courses. Registrations must be made exclusively online, until November 24. After registration, candidates will take a test to compete for spots in one of the offered undergraduate courses.
Those approved in the entrance exam are entitled to complete teaching materials, available in printed and digital versions, and have in-person and online tutoring, ensuring they can clear doubts and receive support throughout the course. Additionally, as part of the digital inclusion program, Cederj provides students with a mobile phone chip, with nationwide coverage and free internet access, facilitating access to teaching platforms.

The Cederj Consortium, managed by the Cecierj Foundation and linked to the Secretary of Science, Technology and Innovation, is one of the most important initiatives for access to quality higher education in the State of Rio de Janeiro. Founded with the aim of offering distance higher education, Cederj provides undergraduate and graduate courses in partnership with some of the best universities in the state, such as UFRJ, UERJ, UFF, CEFET/RJ, and others. The semi-presential modality allows students from various cities the opportunity to study in excellent courses without having to commute daily.
Currently, Cederj has 43 centers spread throughout the state, offering a complete infrastructure for pedagogical support and in-person activities of semi-presential courses. This facilitates access for students who live far from large centers and who often would not have the opportunity to attend a degree program at a public university.
