USPex Platform Offers Over 200 Courses and Hundreds of Free and Paid Activities, Both In-Person and Online!

If you have always dreamed of having the USP on your resume, now is the time! The University of São Paulo (USP) has launched an innovative platform called USP Extension (USPex), bringing together a vast repository of courses and extension activities. With over 200 options available, the new platform makes it easier to search, choose, and enroll in activities offered to the general public. Whether it’s a free or paid course, in-person or online, USP has something for you, according to vocesaabril.

Diversity of Courses and Activities at USP

At USPex, you will find a huge variety of courses and activities. From marketing management to veterinary homeopathy, covering Galician literature and data analysis with Python. The diversity is impressive, and the best part is that many of these courses are free! The platform allows you to filter courses by subject, modality (in-person or distance), and campus (Bauru, Lorena, Piracicaba, Pirassununga, Ribeirão Preto, São Carlos, and São Paulo).

When selecting a course or activity of interest, you will have access to a detailed description, including application period and duration, prerequisites, cost (if paid), location, certification, number of spots, area of knowledge, and target audience. Types of Courses Offered by USP

USP courses are organized into four main types: specialization, improvement, updating, and dissemination. Each type caters to different audiences and objectives. Here are the main characteristics of each:

Specialization: With a minimum workload of 360 hours and 40 hours for the thesis, these courses focus on specific fields of knowledge, such as MBAs.

Improvement: Similar to specialization but without the thesis requirement and with a minimum workload of 180 hours. Ideal for those looking to deepen their knowledge without the need for a thesis.

Updating: With a minimum workload of 30 hours, these courses aim to disseminate the progress of knowledge in specific areas, in a more focused manner.

Dissemination: With a minimum workload of 4 hours, these courses aim to share knowledge and techniques with the general community.

Extension Activities for Graduates

In addition to the courses, USP also offers extension activities aimed exclusively at graduates, divided into three categories:

Professional Practice: Focused on enhancing the exercise of professional activities.

Updating Program: Develops knowledge or techniques in specific areas, allowing participants to stay updated.

Residency: Aimed at deepening scientific knowledge and technical proficiency through on-the-job training.
