The Federal Institute of North Minas Gerais Opened Free Positions in Distance and Semi-Presential Undergraduate Courses with Selection by Curricular Analysis, Covering Poles in Several Cities and Offering Wide Opportunity for New Students.

The Federal Institute of North Minas Gerais (IFNMG) is open for registrations for the Selection Process 1/2026, which offers free undergraduate courses in Distance Education (EAD) and semi-presential modalities, with admission based on curricular analysis of High School grades.

Although the title highlights 720 positions, the notice provides a total of 1,500 positions distributed across in-person support poles in several cities in Minas Gerais.

The selection is organized by the Distance Reference Center (CEADi) of IFNMG, in partnership with FADETEC, the foundation responsible for the registration platform and the official publication of all stages of the process.

Free Courses and Poles of IFNMG

The notice includes four free undergraduate courses.

The Bachelor’s Degree in Public Administration, offered in the EAD modality, has seven poles: Buritizeiro (50 positions), Capelinha (40), Carlos Chagas (50), Itamarandiba – Florestal Pole (40), Jaíba – Acácias do Rio Verde (40), João Pinheiro – Centro (40), and Novo Cruzeiro – São Bento (40), totaling 300 positions in this area.

In the field of Sciences, the Degree in Biological Sciences, in semi-presential format, offers 280 positions.

The classes will be opened in the poles of Araçuaí – Centro (40 positions), Corinto – Clarindo de Paiva (40), Francisco Sá – Centro (40), Mantena – Centro (40), Padre Paraíso – Coronel Olinto Vieira (40), Porteirinha – Vila Serranópolis/Associado (40), and Taiobeiras – Nossa Senhora de Fátima (40).

The Degree in Letters/Libras, also semi-presential, will have 200 positions distributed among the poles of Bocaiúva – Alterosa (40 positions), Corinto – Clarindo de Paiva (40), Jaíba – Acácias do Rio Verde (40), Januária – Vila Fátima (40), and João Pinheiro – Centro (40).

The Degree in Pedagogy, offered in a semi-presential regime, concentrates the majority of the positions.

There are 720 opportunities in 18 poles, all with 40 positions each: Araçuaí – Centro, Jequitinhonha – Centro, Joaíma – Centro, Monte Azul – São José, Pompéu – Morada do Sol, Porteirinha – Vila Serranópolis/Associado, Rio Pardo de Minas – Centro, Turmalina – São João Batista, Várzea da Palma – Centro, Bocaiúva – Alterosa, Buritis – Veredas, Janaúba – Veredas, Januária – Vila Fátima, Itamarandiba – Florestal, Paracatu – Paracatuzinho, Padre Paraíso – Coronel Olinto Vieira, Pedra Azul – Centro, and Urucuia – Vila Olímpica.

Thus, the set of courses totals 1,500 positions in different regions of North and Northeast Minas, expanding access to public higher education.

Who Can Participate in the Selection

Candidates who have already completed High School or equivalent and can prove their academic performance through their school record or similar document may participate in the selection process.

The notice requires that the participant report and prove the grades obtained in the 1st and 2nd years of High School in specific subjects related to each course.

The process uses only the school record: there is no need to have taken the ENEM or to take a test to compete for the positions.

Participation, however, depends on the correct submission of data and documents, as only candidates with validated documentation will proceed to the classification stage.

The notice also reserves part of the positions for affirmative actions.

There are quotas for graduates of public schools, including candidates from low-income backgrounds, self-declared black, brown, and indigenous people, quilombolas, and people with disabilities.

How the Curricular Analysis Works

The classification will be made exclusively through curricular analysis, considering the grades of the subjects from the 1st and 2nd years of High School.

Each course has specific components with different weights for calculating the Final Classification Score (NFC).

Once reported in the system, the grades must be proven by submitting the school record.

Inconsistencies between declared data and documents may lead to disqualification or recalculation of points.

The schedule establishes that registrations are open from October 17 to November 17, 2025, with a waiver period from October 17 to 27.

The preliminary list of approved registrations will be published on November 25, followed by a period for appeals and documentation completion.

The finalization of registrations occurs on December 8, 2025, which is also the scheduled date for the preliminary results.

The final result will be published on December 12, 2025.

How to Register for the IFNMG Selection Process

To register, the interested party must access the official page of the Selection Process 1/2026, select the desired course and pole, fill out the electronic form, and accurately report the grades from the 1st and 2nd years of High School.

Then, it is necessary to attach the school record or equivalent document, submit the registration, track the approval, check the possibility of waiver, and make the payment within the deadline.

All stages, including results and enrollment guidelines, will be published through the official channels of IFNMG and FADETEC.
