The MedEnsina preparatory course, organized by the USP School of Medicine, is offering 300 places for the class of 2025. Applications are open until January 10th!
If you are a student and are looking for a golden opportunity to prepare for the main entrance exams in the country without spending a penny, we have good news! USP opened registration for the Free course MedEnsina, a popular preparatory course that has been helping low-income students to secure a place in higher education for over 20 years.
Focused on students who cannot afford to pay for a traditional prep course, MedEnsina offers high-quality classes, tutorials, mock exams and question-answering sessions, using a methodology that has already approved thousands of students at universities such as USP itself. But be careful: registrations are open until January 10th and the selection will be held on the days January 18st and 19th.
How does the selection process work?
The MedEnsina selection process is organized in stages to ensure that candidates who really need it have access to Free course.
- MEC and Senai join forces and offer more than 700 places on free short courses in electrical, mechanical, civil construction and other areas; Find out more!
- The QualificaDF Móvel project offers more than 1 places on free professional qualification courses; registration until January 25

- Learn Libras for free and in the comfort of your own home! The government has released 1,5 places on a course approved by the Ministry of Education for EVERYONE who wants to learn Libras
The first phase is a socioeconomic analysis, represents 80% of the final grade. The objective is to verify whether or not the candidate has the financial means to pay for a private course. Then, the students take a basic knowledge test, with weight of 20%.
In addition, MedEnsina reserves specific vacancies for black, brown, indigenous, disabled or transgender people. Check out how this distribution is done:
- Black, brown and indigenous people: 150 vacancies
- Disabled people: 12 vacancies
- Transgender people: 12 vacancies
In the end, the top 450 in the selection process they are called for a face-to-face interview, where the self-declaration of black, brown and indigenous candidates goes through a hetero-identification panel.
What are the stages of the course?
O Free course MedEnsina offers a complete program to prepare students for the school year. Here's how it works:
- Regular classes: Monday to Friday, from 18:45 pm to 22:30 pm.
- Questions and Answers: Daily, from 18pm to 18:45pm, with teachers and monitors available to help students.
- Simulated: Throughout the year, students participate in mock exams based on the main entrance exams in Brazil.
- Study materials: Complete handouts, tutorials and tutoring are offered free of charge.
According to the organizers, the project has already benefited more than 7 thousand students, all from public schools and without the financial means to pay for a private course. Many of these students won places at top universities, such as USP, Unicamp and Unesp.
Selection process schedule

- Online registration begins: November 11 of 2024
- End of online registrations: January 10, 2025
- Selection test: January 18th and 19th, 2025
- Completing the socioeconomic questionnaire: January 20 to 26, 2025
- Announcement of candidates called for interview: January 30, 2025
- List of candidates approved in 1st call: February 10, 2025
- opening class: February 14, 2025
- Start of regular classes: February 17, 2025
