Amount Is Deposited in Caixa Tem
The incentive amount is credited to a Caixa Tem savings account, automatically opened in the student’s name. To access the money, it is necessary to use the Caixa Tem app.
If the student is underage, the legal guardian must authorize the use of the account. This consent can be given both through the app and in person at a Caixa branch.
For those 18 years or older, the account will be unlocked and the amount can be used immediately.
How to Check the Benefit
Students can follow the payment status, program rules, and school information through the Student Journey app developed by the Ministry of Education (MEC).
Specific data about money transactions and available balance must be checked in the Caixa Tem app itself.
Who Is Entitled to Pé-de-Meia?
The program is aimed at public high school students who are registered in the Single Registry for Social Programs of the Federal Government (CadÚnico). Family income must be up to half of the minimum wage per person.
To continue receiving the benefit, students must maintain a minimum attendance rate of 80%. If attendance falls below this in any month, the payment for that period will be suspended.
What Is Pé-de-Meia?
Created by Law No. 14.818/2024, Pé-de-Meia is a financial-educational incentive that works like a savings plan. The goal is to ensure that young people stay in school and complete high school.
In addition to the monthly payment for attendance, the student receives R$ 1,000 at the end of each school year if approved. This amount will be kept as savings and can be withdrawn after graduation.
This program aims to reduce inequalities and expand access to education.
