Advancement in renewable energy: A R$ 150 million project launched by Petrobras and Finep aims to create state-of-the-art electrolyzers for green hydrogen, strengthening national research and preparing Brazil to compete in a billion-dollar energy market.

The world has bet on green hydrogen as the fuel of the future, but now faces the side effect: producing 1 kilogram requires about 9 liters of ultrapure water, and the largest projects on the planet are precisely in the driest regions of the Earth, where water is already scarce for people.
The ABVE is a private civil association, non-profit, that works with authorities and business entities related to the electric automotive sector, aiming to promote decisions that encourage the development, research, and use of electrified vehicles.

Sales Expectation for Electric Vehicles in Brazil Until the End of 2021
The ABVE’s initial goal is even more optimistic to further increase the record of electric vehicle sales in Brazil. In 2021, the institution believes it is possible to surpass the forecast of 28,000 in electrified sales, even as the period is still affected by the pandemic.
“We are still very far from having a significant share in the total market (of vehicles). We must insist on support measures for electric mobility,” Antonio Calcagnotto, comments the director of Light Vehicles at ABVE.
