A new Renault SUV is expected to hit the Brazilian market. Meet the Renault Grand Koleos, a 245 hp model that will change the domestic market. The Grand Koleos SUV will be imported.
The arrival of the Renault Grand Koleos in Brazil was anticipated about a month ago, through the website Four wheels, and now it seems to be getting closer and closer. Expected to arrive here in the coming months, Renault's new SUV has already been seen here in an exclusive photo, which shows a hybrid unit.

The Renault Grand Koleos is produced in South Korea, where it will be launched with the aim of exploring markets outside Europe. More than that, Renault's new SUV is one of the fruits of the partnership between the French company and the Chinese company Geely.
In practice, the Grand Koleos SUV is a Geely Monjaro with obvious changes to adapt the aesthetics of a Renault. In this way, it will be imported, without the possibility of nationalization.

The unit spotted here reveals the presence of a hybrid engine by the “E-TECH Hybrid” plaque on the rear. The blue details on the grille (whose pattern seems to merge with the bodywork) and on the bumpers do not improve the hybrid mechanics; in fact, they show that this unit is from the Esprit Alpine version.
Alpine became Renault's sports division in 2021 and the Grand Koleos SUV could mark the team's debut in Brazil. The Esprit Alpine is the top-of-the-line version of the mid-size SUV, which It also features exclusive 20-inch alloy wheels. The cabin features dark trim, blue stitching and Alcantara accents. However, there is no sporty setup on the Renault Grand Koleos.
Renault's new SUV delivers 245 hp in total
This is a plug-in hybrid, meaning its battery can be recharged from external sources. The Grand Koleos SUV combines a 1.5 turbo petrol engine with two electric motors (one of which is a generator only), with a total of 245 hp.
The Renault Grand Koleos always has a six-speed automatic transmission and front-wheel drive. A second engine option, for more affordable versions, is the 2.0 turbo with 211 hp, with a seven-speed automated transmission. However, this may not be available in Brazil.
Another indication made by the spy shots is that the new Renault SUV will not undergo any visual changes to arrive here. It will keep the front with sharp headlights and full LED lighting, and the rear with taillights that cross the entire bonnet. In addition to the front grille, another big difference compared to the original Geely model is the location of the license plate: in the Renault, it is on the bumper.
Interior of the Grand Koleos SUV
The interior is not very extravagant and features three 12,3-inch screens. One of them, the one in front of the passenger, may be deactivated upon arrival in Brazil due to local legislation.
Although it may seem small in the photos, Renault's new SUV is the same size as the Jeep Commander and Volkswagen Tiguan. It is 4,78 meters long and has a 2,82 m wheelbase. Unlike the Jeep, however, the Renault only has 5 seats, thus ensuring a huge trunk of 633 liters.
It is important to mention that the brand is moving forward with its renewal plans for the South American market, strengthening strategic investments in the region. After the introduction of the Renault Kardian, the brand is now preparing to launch a mid-size SUV, which is already in the testing phase in Brazil. The model will be manufactured based on the same modular RGMP platform, the same one used by the Kardian, and will feature electrified versions.
