Last Thursday (23), a crucial agreement between Rumo Logística and the Court of Accounts of Mato Grosso (TCE) was reached and promises to change the future of the Senador Vicente Emílio Vuolo Railway.
According to TCE-MT, the agreement will allow the railway to extend to Cuiabá, the capital of Mato Grosso. The president of TCE, Sérgio Ricardo, emphasized the importance of this branch for the city, highlighting that the presence of the railway will bring enormous benefits not only to the capital but to the entire state and Brazil. “Cuiabá needs this branch, which will greatly benefit all of Mato Grosso and all of Brazil,” stated Ricardo.
Project Details
Rumo Logística has committed to presenting the complete railway project, including the section connecting to Cuiabá, by October 2024.
Rodrigo Verardino de Stéfani, manager of institutional relations at Rumo, assured that the railway tracks will reach the capital by the end of 2026.
