Criminals Intercept Samsung Delivery Loaded with Galaxy Z Fold 7, Z Flip 7 and Other Devices. Stolen Truck Was in the United Kingdom and the Cargo Was Valued at More Than R$ 59 Million.

A truck was stolen while carrying thousands of Samsung devices last weekend in the United Kingdom. The cargo, valued at around US$ 10.6 million (approximately R$ 59 million), contained units of the newly launched Galaxy Z Fold 7 and Galaxy Z Flip 7, in addition to other premium products from the brand.

According to information released by sources linked to the investigation, the vehicle had left Heathrow Airport bound for a company warehouse.

On the way, criminals intercepted the truck and kidnapped the driver, managing to take all the goods without leaving immediate traces.

High-Value Devices Were Among the Items Taken

The losses are not limited to Samsung’s foldables. The cargo also included units from the Galaxy S25 line, including the Galaxy S25 Ultra, and the new smartwatches from the Galaxy Watch 8 series.

In total, it is estimated that approximately 12,000 devices were inside the truck, marking one of the largest thefts involving electronics in the country in recent years.

Case Details: Timeline of Samsung’s Stolen Truck

Airport Departure: The truck left Heathrow Airport loaded with smartphones and other Samsung devices.

Criminal Interception: During the journey, armed criminals kidnapped the driver and took all the cargo.

British authorities warn that about 75% of stolen devices are usually sent out of the country within three days.

Ongoing Investigation: The London police are working with surveillance cameras and route tracking to locate those involved.

IMEI Blocking: Samsung is expected to begin blocking the serial numbers of the stolen devices to hinder their resale in the gray market.

Impact on Consumers: The crime may delay deliveries of the Galaxy Z Fold 7 and Z Flip 7 purchased during pre-sales in the United Kingdom and other countries.

Heathrow, in the United Kingdom, Is a Frequent Target for Specialized Gangs

British authorities indicate that the area around Heathrow Airport has become a critical point for high-value cargo thefts.

According to London police, specialized groups have been operating with increasingly bold and efficient strategies to intercept electronic shipments.

Another concerning fact is that about 75% of stolen devices are smuggled out of the country in less than 72 hours, which significantly hinders the recovery of the products.
