Sergipe Day in São Paulo Presents State Potential to Entrepreneurs Interested in Investing in Oil and Natural Gas Extraction
Sergipe is in a privileged position to advance in oil and natural gas extraction, according to state deputy Marcelo Sobral (UB/SE), who participated in the Sergipe Day event in São Paulo. The initiative showcased the state’s potential to entrepreneurs in the area, aiming to attract investments.
According to Sobral, the state’s governor, Fábio Mitidieri, has been very accessible to companies interested in investing in Sergipe. The lawmaker hopes that this effort will translate into significant investments, benefiting the population.
The Sergipe Day also featured the presence of Senator Laércio Oliveira and other state deputies, as well as the Secretary of the Civil House, Jorginho Araújo, the Secretary of Social Assistance, Érica Mitidieri, and the President of Fiesp, Josué Gomes.

Sergipe Potential
Sergipe has been gaining increasing prominence in oil and natural gas production in Brazil. According to Mitidieri, the state already accounts for ⅕ of all the natural gas marketed in the country and has the capacity to produce even more. Soon, it is expected that Sergipe will produce 20% of all the natural gas produced in the country.
At Sergipe Day, entrepreneurs from the petrochemical sector, fertilizers, ceramics, and glass were able to see firsthand the abundant supply of oil and natural gas existing off the Sergipe coast. The goal of the event was to attract investments from these entrepreneurs to the state.
Commitment to the Environment
In addition to economic development, the government of Sergipe has committed to sustainability and the environment. Marcelo Sobral highlighted the government’s concern in generating development while considering the environment and sustainability.
With a full auditorium of entrepreneurs from across the country and abroad interested in Sergipe’s potential, the state government hopes to promote a significant social and economic transformation, betting on sustainable development.
