Climate Adversities Harmed Soybean Development in the Brazilian Cerrado, Impacting Productive Potential and Resulting in Crop Reseeding.

Agricultural company SLC Agrícola (SLCE3) announced today a 3.3% reduction in the total planted area forecast for the 2023/24 harvest due to climate adversities caused by El Niño, according to the relevant fact disclosed. The agricultural company SLC Agrícola faced unfavorable weather conditions, with below-average rainfall and high temperatures in the Brazilian Cerrado, harming soybean development, especially in western Mato Grosso, the region most affected by the drought.

SLC Agrícola’s Shares (SLCE3) may be impacted by this reduction in the planted area forecast, reflecting the difficulties faced by the agricultural company due to adverse weather. Forecasts for the 2023/24 harvest may also undergo changes due to these unfavorable climatic conditions for soybean production. It is important to closely follow upcoming announcements from SLC Agrícola to assess the impact of these factors on the market.

Considering the optimization of the productive potential of the crops, it will be necessary to discontinue 19,200 hectares of soybeans, transferring this area, initially projected for soybean + cotton second crop planting, to solely the planting of cotton first crop, as it has better productive potential.

, says the agricultural company in the document.

Additionally, due to the replanting of 22,800 hectares of soybeans, the area for second crop corn will see a reduction of 9,240 hectares compared to the initially projected.
