The São José do Rio Preto School of Medicine (Famerp) is currently accepting applications for its free undergraduate course selection process for the 2025 academic year. In total, the institution offers 160 spots, distributed among the courses of Medicine, Nursing, and Psychology, with the selection conducted by the Foundation for the Entrance Exam of Unesp (Vunesp).
Of the 160 spots, 80 are allocated to the Medicine course, 60 to Nursing, and 20 to Psychology. Famerp, a public and free institution based in São José do Rio Preto, in the Northwest of São Paulo, aims to expand access to quality education with this initiative.

Quota Policy in Famerp’s Free Courses
According to the notice, 20% of the total spots are reserved for the Famerp Quota Policy. Of this percentage, 65% is allocated to students who completed Elementary and High School entirely in public schools or in the Youth and Adult Education (EJA) program.
Another 35% of the quotas are reserved for individuals who self-declare as Black, Mixed-Race, or Indigenous, provided they completed all basic education in Brazilian public schools. These quotas promote greater inclusion and diversity in the courses offered by Famerp.
Test Locations and Important Dates
During registration, the applicant must select the city where they wish to take the exams, which will occur in the cities of Bauru, Campinas, Ribeirão Preto, São José do Rio Preto, São José dos Campos, and São Paulo. In São José do Rio Preto, the tests will be held in external buildings, not on the Famerp campus.
Starting December 3, candidates can check their test location and room via the “Test Location” link on the Vunesp Foundation Portal. Additional information is available through the Vunesp Disque, at the phone number (11) 3874-6300, from Monday to Saturday.
Structure of the Exams and Guidelines for the Entrance Exam
The exams will take place over two consecutive days, December 12 and 13, 2024, lasting four hours each. On the first day, from 2 PM to 6 PM, the general knowledge test will be held, covering subjects such as math, biology, geography, physics, history, chemistry, Portuguese, and English, possibly including interdisciplinary questions.
On the second day, at the same time, the specific knowledge test will occur, featuring questions in biology, chemistry, and physics, as well as the essay. On both days, candidates must bring an ID and a black ballpoint pen.
To ensure the integrity of the process, candidates must remain in the testing room for at least one hour after the start. On both exam days, the last three candidates present must leave the room together.
Applications and Famerp 2025 Entrance Exam Fee
Those interested in the free undergraduate courses must register for the Famerp 2025 Entrance Exam exclusively through the Vunesp Foundation Portal by 11:59 PM on November 7, filling out the form and paying the application fee of R$ 175.00.
The boleto can be generated in the candidate’s area by accessing the “Payment” option and then “Generate boleto.” This amount is intended to cover the administrative costs of the selection process.
