TechnipFMC, A British Company, Announced A New Substantial Subsea Contract With Petrobras, Further Moving The Oil And Gas Market
TechnipFMC has closed another new contract with Petrobras and plans to provide subsea trees, electric distribution units, hydraulic units, and many other equipment for four platforms in the Búzios field, in the Santos Basin.

According to TechnipFMC, deliveries of subsea equipment will be for four platforms in the Búzios field, in the Santos Basin, and as expected, the exact value of the new contract with Petrobras was not disclosed, but the British company stated it is between US$ 250 million and US$ 500 million.
TechnipFMC will provide subsea trees with controls, intervention services and installation support, electric and hydraulic distribution units, and surface systems for the Búzios field in the Santos Basin. Deliveries to Petrobras are expected to begin in the first quarter of 2023. The equipment will be distributed among the FPSOs Búzios 6, 7, 8, and 9.

TechnipFMC Comments On The New Contract With Petrobras
According to the Subsea President of TechnipFMC, Jonathan Landes, the contract for the Búzios field, in the Santos Basin, comes a few weeks after the company reached its manufacturing and delivery milestone of 700 trees in Brazil, which he says is yet another proof of the company’s long-term commitment to the country where local content accounts for 97% of its workforce.
The executive also stated that sustainability is at the heart of the delivery objective for this project. According to him, all subsea trees will be manufactured at their Brazilian facilities, which are powered by renewable sources.
Other Contracts Of TechnipFMC With Petrobras
In April, the British company also closed a partnership with Petrobras, but not in the Búzios field, instead in the Voador And Marlim Fields. The contract called for the company to supply 8 manifolds for production and injection through the fully electric robotic valve controller created to analyze the performance of systems in real-time.
At the time, Landes stated about the contract that bringing new automation and technology resources has excited everyone at TechnipFMC. Innovations in automation and electrification are important for their clients to reduce carbon emissions and lower operational costs in their projects.
