Third electric car from General Motors in Ceará could be a compact hatch with up to 403 km range, fast charging, and a direct focus on more accessible urban electrics.
General Motors is preparing a new move in the electrification of Chevrolet in Brazil and plans to assemble a third vehicle at the Automotive Plant in Ceará, in Horizonte, starting in 2027.
According to Autoesporte, the main candidate is the Wuling Bingo Pro, an electric hatch developed by SAIC-GM-Wuling, a joint venture formed by GM and the Chinese company SAIC.
Furthermore, the model would arrive with a clear mission: to compete with the BYD Dolphin Mini and the Geely EX2, two electric compacts that have been gaining attention in the Brazilian market.

Although Chevrolet has not yet confirmed the commercial name, there is a possibility that the brand will use a well-known name in the country. Therefore, the name Electric Celta appears as a hypothesis for the future national version.
GM expands electric strategy in Ceará
The movement comes after the start of assembly of the Chevrolet Captiva EV at the Ceará unit. Before that, the operation had already received the Spark EUV, also linked to the Wuling ecosystem.
Thus, the Horizonte plant gains a strategic role in the introduction of new Chevrolet electrics in Brazil. Additionally, the operation reinforces GM’s approach to lower-cost Chinese models.
The possible national Wuling Bingo Pro is expected to follow the SKD system, an acronym for Semi Knocked-Down. In this format, the body, engine, and transmission arrive almost ready in the country.
After that, the Brazilian plant integrates the main assemblies. This stage also includes electrical systems, internal components, and finishes.
What is the Wuling Bingo Pro like
The Wuling Bingo Pro features a rounded design and urban look. Additionally, its style resembles the GWM Ora 03, although its size is between the Dolphin Mini and the Geely EX2.
In terms of dimensions, the hatch measures 4.05 meters in length, 1.76 meters in width, 1.58 meters in height, and 2.56 meters in wheelbase.
Therefore, the proposal combines compact dimensions with a cabin aimed at daily use. The focus, thus, is on consumers seeking a practical and more affordable urban electric vehicle.

Engine, battery, and range enter the compact competition
The hatch uses a front electric motor with 88 hp. Additionally, it can be equipped with batteries of 32 kWh or 38 kWh, depending on the version.
In the Chinese cycle, the range varies between 330 km and 403 km. Therefore, the setup places the Bingo Pro in a competitive range among compact electric vehicles.
Another highlight is the fast charging. According to data released about the model, the battery can go from 30% to 80% in about 15 minutes.
Additionally, the car offers V2L technology, which allows powering external electrical equipment. In this case, the power reaches 3.3 kW.
Chinese price attracts attention, but Brazil is expected to have a higher value
In China, the Wuling Bingo Pro was launched in May 2026 with prices ranging from 58,500 to 72,800 yuan.
In direct conversion, this represents something close to R$ 43,000 to R$ 53,000. However, in Brazil, the expectation is around R$ 120,000.
Even so, if confirmed for 2027, the possible Chevrolet Celta electric could expand the competition among compact electric vehicles in the country.
With this, Chevrolet would attempt to combine a popular name, local production in Ceará, and Chinese technology to advance in an increasingly competitive segment.
