TikTok Plans to Expand Its Operations in All Countries, Especially in North America
TikTok intends to significantly increase its workforce, particularly in the U.S. To achieve this goal, they plan to boost the number of engineers working at its main center in the country.
The social network’s headquarters is located in Mountain View, California, and currently has over 1,000 employees working there.
According to a report published on The Information website, TikTok’s team in California is expected to more than double in the next three years, reaching around 2,000 employees as a result of the new hires.
In addition to engineers, the social network is seeking other professionals to enhance the application’s features and infrastructure, as well as a marketing team to explore new ways to profit from its operations.
TikTok Is Hiring New Employees While Other Tech Companies Are Laying Off
Unlike the widespread layoff announcements made by Twitter, Meta, and Amazon, a decision has been made to expand the number of employees working at TikTok.
After Elon Musk acquired Twitter, more than half of the professionals working for the social network were laid off shortly after the acquisition. The corporation, which had around 7,500 employees, laid off at least 3,500 of those individuals.
There are also rumors that Meta, owner of Facebook, Instagram, and WhatsApp, will lay off around 11,000 people, which amounts to about 13% of the company’s workforce.
Additionally, according to an article published right here on CPG, Amazon may lay off up to 10,000 employees as part of its wave of layoffs.
