With a billion-dollar contract signed between Omnia Data Centers and Casa dos Ventos, the project installed in the Pecém Complex advances as one of the largest technological hubs in Latin America and enhances Ceará’s role in the global expansion of data centers powered by clean energy
Ceará has just definitively entered the global radar of high-performance technology. A $2 billion agreement — about R$ 10 billion at the current exchange rate — was signed between Omnia Data Centers and Casa dos Ventos to ensure the supply of renewable energy to the mega data center linked to TikTok, which will be installed in the Pecém Complex, in the Metropolitan Region of Fortaleza.
According to information released by columnist Victor Ximenes, from Diário do Nordeste, the contract is considered the largest ever recorded in Latin America within the energy self-production model aimed at data centers. The project reinforces not only Ceará’s economic strength but also the international race for digital infrastructure powered by renewable sources.
The movement occurs at a time when technology giants are competing for energy capacity to support the accelerated growth of artificial intelligence, cloud storage, and massive data consumption on digital platforms.

Ceará becomes a strategic piece in the global expansion of data centers
The new venture will be operated by Omnia Data Centers and will have TikTok, one of the most used digital platforms in the world, as its main client. The structure will be installed in the Export Processing Zone (EPZ) area of Pecém.
CDV DC I S.A. received authorization from the National Council of Export Processing Zones (CZPE) in November 2025 to implement the operation in Ceará. The market expects the project to transform Pecém into one of the main technological hubs in Latin America.
In addition to the strategic location, another decisive factor for the installation of the data center is precisely the availability of large-scale renewable energy — something that the Brazilian Northeast has been consolidating in recent years with robust investments in wind and solar generation.
In this sense, the signed contract provides for an estimated volume of up to 300 MW of average energy, coming from wind farms installed in Ceará and Piauí.
The adopted model will be that of energy self-production. In practice, this means that Omnia Data Centers will become part of the corporate structure of Casa dos Ventos’ generation assets, ensuring direct access to the energy produced by the ventures.
Specialists point out that this format is gaining strength among technology companies precisely because it offers greater energy predictability, reduction of operational costs, and alignment with global sustainability goals.
Investment in renewable energy should exceed R$ 4 billion
In addition to the technological impact, the project is also expected to strongly boost the northeastern energy sector. Casa dos Ventos will be responsible for the development, implementation, operation, and management of the wind farms that will supply the data center.
The estimated investments only in the implementation of renewable generation projects amount to approximately R$ 4 billion.
Meanwhile, Omnia will act not only as the operator of the Pecém Data Center but also as an investor and self-producer of energy. This move highlights a growing trend in the digital infrastructure sector: large companies taking direct participation in energy generation to ensure operational stability.
The energy demand of data centers has increased significantly in recent years due to the exponential growth of generative artificial intelligence, streaming, cloud computing, and processing of large volumes of data.
As a result, regions capable of offering clean energy, logistical infrastructure, and international connection have come to occupy a privileged position in the race for billion-dollar investments.
Project strengthens Ceará’s economy and expands the Northeast’s prominence
The economic impact of the mega-enterprise goes beyond the technological sector. The expectation is that the installation of the data center will generate direct and indirect jobs, strengthen local production chains, and attract new companies linked to the digital economy.
Moreover, the Pecém Complex has already been consolidating itself as one of Brazil’s main strategic corridors for export, industry, and energy infrastructure.
On the other hand, the arrival of a project associated with TikTok also increases Ceará’s international visibility in a sector considered strategic for the future of the global economy.
As published by Diário do Nordeste, the agreement between Omnia and Casa dos Ventos represents a historic milestone for the sustainable data center segment in Latin America.
The trend is that the Northeast will continue to attract similar investments in the coming years, especially due to the combination of renewable energy potential, territorial availability, and favorable geographical position for international data connections.
Amid the global technological race, Ceará now occupies an increasingly relevant position on the global map of digital infrastructure.
