O Federal Institute of Education, Science and Technology of Ceará (IFCE), Itapipoca Campus, has opened registration for free extension courses, allowing access to valuable knowledge at no cost.
According to IFCE itself, registrations for the Simplified Selection Process are focused on two courses: Basic Computing and Logic and Programming Language.
In total, 60 vacancies will be offered to the internal and external community. These courses not only train participants, but also open doors to new opportunities in the job market.
Details about the courses offered
Basic Computer Science (Night)
This course aims to train adults who want to understand and master the fundamental concepts of computing, from handling equipment to performing tasks in the digital environment.
With a workload of 80 hours, the course will take place between January 14 and April 11, 2025, on Tuesdays and Fridays, from 18:15 pm to 21:45 pm.
The program content is comprehensive and includes:
Conceptual introduction: Students will learn about computer concepts, hardware, software, peripherals, binary number system, processor and memory.
Everyday practices: There will be activities that teach the use of mouse and keyboard, web navigation, online searches, downloads, file management, emails, creation of text documents, slide presentations and spreadsheets.
Computational questions: Topics such as viruses, malware, phishing, social engineering, free software and the veracity of information on the internet will be covered.
Logic and Programming Language
Aimed at young people and adults interested in programming, this course offers 60 hours of practical and theoretical teaching. It will be taught on Saturdays, between January 18 and May 10, 2025, with options for morning classes (7:30 am to 11:45 am) and afternoon classes (13:15 pm to 17:30 pm).
Key topics include:
- Problem solving: using programming logic to create interactive digital games and animations.
- Error identification: techniques to identify and correct errors in solutions involving programming logic.
- Testing and execution of algorithms: practical activities involving the development and analysis of algorithms.
Selective Process
Notice No. 5/2024, published by IFCE, establishes the criteria for registration and selection.
Interested parties must register between January 2nd and 9th, 2025, sending the completed form and the necessary documentation to the email cpe.itapipoca@ifce.edu.br.
The vacancies are distributed as follows:
- Basic IT: 15 external and 5 internal vacancies.
- Logic and Programming Language: 40 external vacancies.
If there are vacant places, they may be redistributed among the different audiences. Selection will be made in order of registration, and in the event of a tie, specific criteria will be applied.
Results and next steps
The results will be announced on January 10, 2025, on the official website of IFCE Campus Itapipoca.
Substitute candidates will be called in the event of withdrawals or unfilled vacancies, ensuring that all opportunities are taken advantage of.
