IFSP selection process expands vacancies in online courses related to technology, Libras, public management, and special education, with a monthly scholarship paid by Capes and opportunities distributed across different São Paulo campuses. Selection includes various higher education courses and anticipates academic mediation at the Open University of Brazil.
With a monthly scholarship of R$ 1,100, the Federal Institute of Education, Science and Technology of São Paulo is open for selection of distance learning pedagogical mediators who will work in higher education courses offered by the Open University of Brazil System.
Published through Notice No. 89/2026, the selection process gathers vacancies and reserve registration in different academic areas, covering courses related to technology, Libras, Letters, public management, and special education at participating São Paulo campuses.
IFSP selection includes different academic areas
Professionals actively teaching in the public education network or linked to programs provided for in UAB legislation can participate, as long as they have higher education compatible with the chosen area at the time of registration.

Accepted degrees for vacancies in technology, Libras, and Letters
In areas related to technology, the notice accepts degrees such as Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Systems, Systems Analysis and Development, and Software Engineering, in addition to other related courses provided in the official vacancy chart.
For components linked to Data Science, professionals graduated in Computing, Informatics, Artificial Intelligence, Mathematics, Physics, and equivalent areas compatible with the criteria established by IFSP can also apply.
Meanwhile, the vacancies intended for the Letters axis include candidates with a degree in Linguistics or a degree in Letters, including qualifications in Portuguese, English, Spanish, French, and German.
For functions aimed at Libras and Specialized Educational Assistance, IFSP admits candidates with training in Translation and Interpretation in Libras, Letters with specific qualification, Bilingual Pedagogy, or certifications recognized by the competent bodies.
In the case of the Specialization in Special Education with a focus on High Abilities/Giftedness, the requirement stated in the announcement is a degree in Pedagogy for work linked to the Birigui campus.
Scholarship of R$ 1,100 and work in distance education
The selected candidates will receive a monthly scholarship of R$ 1,100, funded by Capes, according to the guidelines established by the Open University of Brazil System and the rules mentioned in the selection announcement.
In addition to a workload of 20 hours per week, mediators may participate in synchronous meetings held in the evening or on Saturdays, as well as in pedagogical and administrative meetings promoted by the course coordinators.
Among the expected responsibilities are the monitoring of students in virtual learning environments, mediation between teachers and classes, support for academic activities, and collaboration in actions related to educational accessibility.
For mediators linked to the areas of Libras and Specialized Educational Assistance, activities also include translation and interpretation of video lessons, educational materials, synchronous meetings, and academic panels.
Even though approved candidates may be called throughout the offering of the subjects, participation in the program does not create an employment relationship with IFSP or Capes, as the scholarship depends on the budget availability of UAB.
Selection process will be done by analysis of titles
The classification of candidates will be done in a single stage, through analysis of titles and professional experience, with a maximum score of 100 points.
The announcement considers the highest academic degree presented by the candidate, such as a master’s or doctorate, in addition to specializations in the area corresponding to the chosen group.
Also included in the scoring are experiences as a teacher trainer, tutor, or mediator in the UAB Program, as well as equivalent roles in distance courses of other programs or institutions.
The call will follow the order of classification and the need for mediators during the offering of the subjects, without an automatic guarantee of immediate scholarship for all classified candidates.
