A University of São Paulo (USP), considered the best higher education institution in Brazil, is Registration is open for a free writing and Portuguese language course.

The initiative is part of the Draft Project, promoted by the School of Communications and Arts (ECA), and aims to improve participants' written communication in different everyday contexts.

Registrations are open until the day March 29, and interested parties must fill out a online form.

The second stage of the selection process takes place in person at the Butantã campus, in São Paulo, also on the day March 29.

The course, which is free, addresses not only grammatical and textual aspects, but also citizenship and effective communication.

Who can participate?

To enroll in the course Draft Project, it is necessary to meet the following criteria:

  • Be at least 16 years old;
  • Not having completed an undergraduate course at a public university;
  • There is no age limit for candidates..

If the number of applicants is greater than the total number of available places, selection will be made based on socioeconomic criteria.

Factors such as education and income will be taken into account to ensure that those who need it most have access to classes.

Those approved will receive a email with instructions for the start of the course.

What makes the Redigir Project different?

Unlike traditional writing courses aimed at entrance exams and competitions, Draft Project has an approach focused on everyday life.

The proposal is that students learn to communicate better in different situations, either when writing a professional email, producing a report at work or even better structuring your ideas in a conversation.

During the semester, participants will have classes on:

Grammar applied to everyday life, such as correct use of punctuation and accentuation;

Textual genres, to understand different forms of writing;

Practical writing, with personalized exercises and corrections;

Debates on social and cultural issues, promoting the development of critical thinking;

Argumentation strategies, so that students know how to defend their ideas in a coherent manner;

Text interpretation techniques, helping in the understanding of information and in the production of quality text.

Classes will be taught by USP student volunteers, from different courses, and will happen always on Saturday mornings, on the Butantã campus.

The school term will be April 5st to June 28th, providing students with a intensive and quality teaching.
