Toyota Corolla Cross is reborn with a stunning new look! The SUV will be updated in Europe and the US later this year — and Brazil is ahead of the game
Toyota has confirmed that the Corolla Cross will undergo a significant visual update in Europe and the United States from the second half of 2025. Interestingly, the facelift that will be adopted in these markets had already debuted in Brazil, more specifically in hybrid versions of the SUV — an unusual inversion in the brand's strategy, which normally prioritizes the European and North American markets in global launches.
Brazil takes the lead in new global design
The Corolla Cross is currently one of the Best-selling hybrid SUVs both in the Brazilian and European markets, which reinforces its strategic relevance for the Japanese automaker. The new-look model began circulating on Brazilian streets even before being officially announced in regions such as Europe and the USA — a movement that highlights the growing importance of the South American market in Toyota's global decisions.
The adopted design follows a more refined line, with honeycomb style front grille, uniform paintwork and headlights with a new finish. This visual identity is now being extended to hybrid versions outside Brazil, but with important differences in combustion options and in versions with a sporty appeal.

Differences between markets: Europe, USA and Brazil
In Europe, the biggest changes are concentrated in the version GR-Sport, aimed at the public looking for a sportier look. The front of the new European Corolla Cross has been completely reworked, with the replacement of the translucent bar between the headlights with a piece in opaque black plastic, besides a wider, squarer lower grille. The LED taillights They also received an exclusive design, clearly marking the model’s regional identity.
Another technical detail that differentiates the European Corolla Cross from the Brazilian one is in the lower part of the car: the version manufactured for the Old Continent has a transverse muffler located behind the rear axle, hiding the part and providing a cleaner finish — something that does not happen in the version sold in Brazil.
In the United States, the approach was a little more conservative. Toyota chose to maintain a similar look to the previous version of the combustion engine, adding only a plastic strip on top of the front grille. In addition, the North American market will not feature the GR-Sport version, at least in this initial update.
10″ multimedia center and digital panel gain space
The restyling was not limited to the exterior. Toyota also updated the interior of the Corolla Cross, adopting a new multimedia center with 10-inch screen, And digital instrument panel, which varies between 7 and 10 inches depending on the version and the country. This update debuted first in Brazil and will now be replicated in other markets.
Motorization: variations between continents
Engine options also vary by country. In the US, the Corolla Cross continues to be equipped with the 2.0 naturally aspirated with direct injection, generating 170 horsepower with gasoline. In Brazil, this same engine is flex, which allows you to reach up to 175 cv with ethanol.
The highlight in the United States is the most powerful hybrid system, which combines the 2.0 engine with three electric motors to deliver a total of 199 cv — well above the 122 cv offered by the Brazilian hybrid version, which uses a 1.8 flex engine combined with two electric propellers.
In Europe, the Corolla Cross is sold exclusively as a hybrid. There are two configurations available: one with the 1.8 petrol engine and the other with the 2.0, both associated with batteries and revised electric motors. The first offers 140 cv, while the second, more powerful, delivers 197 cv — virtually equivalent to the most robust configuration sold in the United States.
“The Corolla Cross is a global project, but each market has its own demands and preferences, which justifies the differences in design and engine,” commented Koji Sato, Toyota’s global CEO, in an interview with the Autocar website.
Updated prices: Brazil, Europe and USA
Although official pricing for the new models has not yet been announced for the European and North American markets, it is possible to get an idea based on current prices. In Europe, the Corolla Cross hybrid starts at € 38.000, which represents approximately R $ 241 thousand. In the US, the cheapest model with a combustion engine costs from US$ 25.485Near R $ 144 thousand, according to Toyota USA.
In Brazil, the Corolla Cross starts from R$179.190 in the XR 2.0 CVT version. The hybrid version XRX Hybrid, currently the only one in the line with this engine, costs R$219.890, according to the table available on the official Toyota Brazil website.
