For employees who accept Toyota’s plans and move to Sorocaba, stability has been established until July 2029. Those who choose to move but decide to maintain residence in Indaiatuba will receive two salaries plus R$ 15,000, while those who transfer their address to the new city will be entitled to 2.4 extra salaries.

Indaiatuba employees will have guaranteed stability until July 2026, with exit windows agreed upon for September/24, March/25, September/25, March/26, and July/26. Those transferring to Sorocaba will have guaranteed employment until July 2029.
Closure of the Factory Is Part of a Cycle of Billion-Dollar Investments for Manufacturing New Technologies and Launching Cars, Such as the New SUV Yaris Cross
In March, Toyota announced an investment of R$ 11 billion in the Sorocaba (SP) factory for the production of new products with hybrid technology, resulting in the closure of the Indaiatuba plant. The expectation is that more than 2,000 new jobs will be created at the expanded Sorocaba factory.
Of the R$ 11 billion, the Japanese company is investing R$ 1.7 billion for the local production of the Yaris Cross SUV, aiming to be the cheapest hybrid in Brazil; the Toyota Yaris Cross just needs to have an initial price lower than the R$ 187,790 currently charged for the Corolla Altis Hybrid SUV.
