Discover How Tramontina Is Revolutionizing the Offshore Industry with Its Innovative Project for the FPSO Valente Platform from PRIO
Tramontina continues to stand out in the offshore market, especially with its delivery of an innovative project for the FPSO Valente platform, operated by PRIO (formerly PetroRio). This milestone consolidates the company’s position as a reference in advanced technical solutions for the oil and gas sector. With its IPEx division, Tramontina reaffirms its commitment to safety, innovation, and sustainability, which are essential for success in such a demanding sector.
The Control Panel of Tramontina
To meet the specific needs of PRIO, Tramontina developed a highly sophisticated control panel, designed for line and circulation oil pumps. This panel is a key element in PRIO’s new infrastructure, which connects the Wahoo Field to the FPSO Valente via an “underwater road”. Thus, the integration between onshore and offshore operations becomes more efficient, ensuring greater safety and sustainability.
Additionally, the panel features impressive characteristics. It is composed of 42 electrically interconnected boxes, with power, control, and signaling components that strictly follow applicable technical standards. To facilitate installation, Tramontina’s team used an innovative method of disassembly and reassembly on site, which eliminated logistical challenges and ensured a flawless result.

The Soviet Union spent 22 years drilling into the Earth’s crust and reached a depth of 12,262 meters — they found water where it was thought impossible, hydrogen bubbling from the rock, granite that is 2.7 billion years old, and temperatures of 180 degrees that melted the drill bits.

Priorities in Project Execution
Throughout the project, Tramontina demonstrated a solid commitment to sustainability and safety. For instance, the choice of enhanced safety boxes (Ex e) made from polyester allowed for weight reduction and increased durability of the equipment, benefiting both installation and continuous operation. Additionally, the technical team conducted rigorous factory acceptance tests and closely monitored the entire commissioning process, ensuring that every detail met the highest quality standards.
Another crucial point was the focus on explosive atmospheres. Tramontina prepared to meet the specific demands of the offshore sector, offering customized solutions that maximize the protection of lives and assets. Therefore, the company is ready for new challenges, always prioritizing the delivery of superior and innovative results.
Tramontina and the Future of the Offshore Sector
The IPEx division of Tramontina has over a decade of experience in delivering electrical solutions for classified areas. With each project, the company demonstrates precise alignment with the demands of clients and the market, resulting in exceptional outcomes. Among the segments served, notable ones include biofuels, refineries, oil platforms, grain silos, food, beverages, pulp, power plants, and chemical and pharmaceutical industries.
According to André de Lima, commercial director of Tramontina, the success of this project reinforces the company’s commitment to innovation and safety. He emphasizes that Tramontina is prepared to face even more complex challenges, both in Brazil and abroad. Thus, the company continues consolidating its position as a specialist in safe and efficient solutions for explosive atmospheres.
“Our priority remains to protect lives and assets while ensuring the sustainable advancement of the offshore industry,” concludes the executive.

Muito bom isso, trabalhei 35 anos em plataformas, e sei bem o quanto é importante ter painéis confiáveis, que suportam altas pressões e também não se deixem invadir em caso de vazamentos de gás próximo aos painéis.
