The Faculty of Dentistry of Federal University of Minas Gerais (UFMG) has great news: the institution announced the opening of registrations for its free course in the area of oral health.
According to the university, in total, 3.200 places will be offered for the refresher course “Training in Oral Health: work process in Primary Care and municipal implementation of the National Oral Health Policy” (FormaSB).
This course is taught online and, therefore, has national coverage. It is primarily intended for municipalities with up to 20 thousand inhabitants, especially those located in the North and Northeast regions of Brazil.

According to UFMG, the course at the Faculty of Dentistry has a total workload of 60 hours. Of these, 36 hours are synchronous, 24 hours directly with the tutor/class and another 12 hours in themed meetings with guests.

Additionally, 24 hours will be asynchronous. In this case, students will carry out dispersion activities and in the Virtual Learning Environment (VLE) in a course that, in total, lasts three months.
During this period, there will be fortnightly 4-hour tutor/class meetings and 12 hours of thematic meetings scheduled throughout the course – these online meetings will be held in the National Research Network (RNP) environment.

Anyone interested in the course should pay attention, as registrations must be made by June 7th via the website www.cursoformasb.com.br, by the coordinator responsible for the municipality.

Target audience for the UFMG course
According to the university, the course's target audience is the Oral Health (eSB) teams of the Family Health Strategy (CD, ASB and/or TSB), working 40 hours a week.
Furthermore, the course is also aimed at those responsible for municipal oral health management, which is equivalent to the position/function of Municipal Oral Health Coordinator.
Each municipality may register up to two Modality I and/or II Oral Health teams, with a 40-hour weekly schedule, as holders. In addition, one more Oral Health team, Modality I and/or II, may be enrolled, working 40 hours a week, as a substitute.
Finally, registration approval will be carried out by a panel made up of members of the National Course Coordination and the General Oral Health Coordination of the Ministry of Health.
