Autonomy and Income Program Petrobras brings together free courses, allowance and industrial training in different states, with selection by public notice and priority for low-income audiences. The benefit depends on enrollment, attendance in classes, and the rules of each public call.
Petrobras maintains new opportunities for free training through the Autonomy and Income Program, an initiative aimed at the professional qualification of people in situations of social vulnerability, especially in regions close to the company’s operations.
Developed with institutions such as Firjan SESI, Senai and Federal Institutes, the action offers in-person qualification and technical training courses in areas related to industry, energy, construction, maintenance, and industrial operations.
Among the main attractions is the monthly allowance paid to enrolled students with regular attendance, according to the rules of each public call disclosed on the program’s official platform.

In the consulted notices, the basic amount is R$ 660, but it can reach R$ 858 for women with children up to 11 years and 11 months, provided the condition is proven at enrollment.
There is also a provision for food assistance in some notices, always with the purpose of supporting participants’ permanence during training, without salary ties with Petrobras or the executing institutions.
To maintain the benefit, the student needs to meet a minimum attendance of 75% in monthly activities, a rule used to monitor participation in classes and prevent dropout during the course.
Autonomy and Income Program prioritizes low income and people without formal employment
Created to expand access to professional training in areas related to the state company’s activities, the Autonomy and Income Petrobras prioritizes residents of the municipalities or territories defined in each public notice.
The selection is aimed at people over 18 years old, without formal employment ties and in low-income situations, provided they meet the residency, education, and documentation criteria required in the public call.
Within this audience, women, black people, trans people, indigenous people, quilombolas, migrants, refugees, and people with disabilities may receive priority according to the affirmative action rules established in the notices.
When the number of eligible applicants exceeds the number of available spots, the selection is usually conducted through an electronic lottery, respecting the distribution of priority groups and the order outlined in the regulations.
In addition to registering within the deadline, the candidate must verify the declared information, such as address, education, and per capita family income, which is generally limited to up to half a minimum wage.
Petrobras free courses are aimed at industrial areas
The opportunities include training such as boilermaker, scaffold assembler, signalman rigger, welding, industrial mechanics, industrial electrician, industrial painting, building maintenance, and other activities related to the productive sector.
The offer, however, changes according to the state, city, educational unit, and ongoing notice, which requires the candidate’s attention before choosing the desired training.
In the most recent calls for the partnership with Senai, in-person classes were scheduled in units in São Paulo, Rio de Janeiro, Minas Gerais, Paraná, Pernambuco, Rio Grande do Sul, and Espírito Santo.
Each participating city appears linked to the area of Petrobras operations and the available structure in the executing schools, which define shifts, class locations, and specific schedules.
The course durations also vary, as qualification courses may last a few months, while technical training requires a longer period and compatible education, especially when they follow high school.
The certification is issued by the institution responsible for offering the course, such as Senai or Federal Institute, according to the chosen modality and the rules indicated in the notice.
In the official notice consulted, the courses appear as certified by Senai and recognized by the Brazilian Classification of Occupations, a reference used to identify professional activities in the country.
Monthly allowance depends on class attendance
The payment of the allowance does not occur just by registering, as the benefit is intended for selected candidates, enrolled and with regular participation in the activities planned in the course.
After enrollment, the deposit must be made into a bank account owned by the student, following the data provided and validated according to the requirements described in the notices.
The indicated account cannot be a salary account nor the same used exclusively for receiving social benefits, such as Bolsa Família, when there is a limitation on movement or deposit.
If there are banking inconsistencies, the payment may be suspended until regularization, making it essential to check the data before finalizing the enrollment and monitoring stages.
The notice also provides for the loss of the spot and the aid in situations such as abandonment, prolonged absence, or non-compliance with attendance rules, which serve to measure the participant’s permanence in the program.
Without a salary nature, the scholarship functions as financial support so that the participant can attend classes, complete the training, and reduce practical difficulties during the course period.
Selection of candidates occurs by electronic lottery
After registration, the selection of candidates is usually carried out by electronic lottery, always observing the reserved spots for priority groups and the rules defined in each notice.
Upon completing the registration, the participant receives a registration or lottery number, used to track calls, lists, enrollment deadlines, and possible updates of the selection process.
Based on the information declared in the form, the platform categorizes the candidate into the groups provided in the notice, considering criteria of income, residence, education, and social profile.
Those who do not appear within the initial number of spots may be included in a reserve registration or waiting list, depending on the classification and the availability of new calls.
If the selected candidate does not prove the provided information or fails to present the required documents, the spot may be passed on to the next name on the list.
Enrollment confirmation occurs only after document validation, either in person or through the procedure defined by the executing institution responsible for the chosen class.
Program expected to reach thousands of free spots
According to Senai, the Autonomy and Income Petrobras has an investment of R$ 350 million and a forecast of about 20,000 spots in technical and professional courses over four years.
The planned distribution reaches 44 municipalities in seven Brazilian states, with classes organized in cycles of different notices for each location, course, and partner institution.
Launched in June 2024, the initiative has been executed in stages, which means that deadlines, cities, and available courses change according to the schedule of each call.
For this reason, interested candidates need to frequently follow the official platform, as new processes may arise with their own periods of registration, enrollment, and start of classes.
In April 2026, the Industry News Agency recorded a new call with 1,540 free spots in Minas Gerais, São Paulo, Rio de Janeiro, Paraná, Rio Grande do Sul, and Pernambuco.
Other notices were published later, but not all remain open at the same time, as each selection has its own schedule and may close before the opening of new classes.
Petrobras Internship is Another Selection Process
In addition to professional qualification courses, Petrobras conducts its own selection processes for university students through internship programs, with different rules from those provided in Autonomy and Income.
These opportunities are aimed at undergraduate students enrolled in institutions recognized by the MEC and follow separate notices, with specific requirements according to area, city, and higher education course.
In the case of the internship, the selection usually involves a stipend, benefits, and work in the company’s administrative, technical, and operational areas, according to the state-owned company’s internal demand.
This front should not be confused with Autonomy and Income, which focuses on free professional training for priority audiences and residents of regions defined in the notice.
How to Enroll in Petrobras Courses with Senai
Registration must be done through the official platform of the Petrobras Autonomy and Income Program, in the notices area, where the candidate chooses the available course and checks the city, shift, requirements, documents, deadline, and status of the call.
After registration, it is necessary to follow calls, results, enrollment, and any updates published by the process organization, as missing deadlines may prevent confirmation of the spot.
