Who Can Participate?
According to UFSCar, only serving directors and deputy directors in state or municipal public schools can enroll.
It is also required that candidates hold a bachelor’s degree in a recognized teaching program by the MEC.
The selection will be based on two main criteria: document analysis and order of registration. Therefore, those who submit the required documentation correctly and promptly will have a better chance of securing a spot.
Course Contributes to Raise the Quality of Public Education
Training qualified school managers is one of the most effective strategies to improve the indicators of public education in Brazil.
According to the 2023 School Census data, around 180,000 schools are active in the country, with most managed by professionals who accumulate administrative and pedagogical functions.
In this scenario, the UFSCar specialization stands out by offering practical and theoretical tools to enhance decision-making, resource use, and people management in schools.
Furthermore, the free training promotes equity in access to qualification, allowing public network professionals to expand their skills even without financial resources to invest in paid courses.
Initiative Stands Out Nationally Among Federal Universities
UFSCar is recognized for its academic excellence and commitment to educational inclusion.
Founded in 1968, the institution ranks among the top 20 federal universities in the country, according to national rankings such as RUF (Universitary Ranking Folha).
The offering of free postgraduate courses reinforces the university’s social role in democratizing knowledge. In 2024, UFSCar had already been highlighted with other specializations aimed at education, such as Literacy, Inclusive Education, and Pedagogical Coordination.
