These warehouses function as intermediate points between cooperatives, industries, and ports, enabling small producers to access the marketing of soy, corn, wheat, and other agricultural products.
The goal is to ensure the productive use of these properties, guaranteeing the continuity of essential services to the Paraná agribusiness.
The initiative provides for a public bidding process to select private companies, with contracts for onerous concession and termination clauses in case of deviation from purpose.
Modernization and Competitive Infrastructure in the Grain Storage Sector
The modernization of the IDR-Paraná Storage Units is essential to make these facilities competitive.
Currently, the units require significant restructuring to operate efficiently and meet the logistical demands of the sector.
The concession to the private sector will allow investments in technology, maintenance, and capacity expansion, benefiting the Central, South, and Northwest regions of Paraná.
The model expects to raise resources that will be reinvested in research, extension, and rural development programs, strengthening the entire agribusiness chain.
Marketing of Agricultural Products and Support for Small Producers
The granting of the IDR-Paraná Storage Units also focuses on the efficient marketing of grains and agricultural inputs.
These warehouses serve as a backup for cooperatives, allowing surplus crops to be stored and sold in an organized manner.
Moreover, they provide support to small producers, who can access federal government minimum price policies and regulatory stocks.
The private initiative will be committed to maintaining these functions, ensuring continuity in the delivery of essential services.
Sustainability and Regional Economic Development
Integrating the private sector with the IDR-Paraná Storage Units is a strategy to promote economic and environmental sustainability.
The concession will enable the warehouses to operate more efficiently, reducing grain losses and optimizing logistics.
With the application of resources in research, extension, and rural business, Paraná seeks to strengthen its position in the national market, as well as create conditions for small and medium producers to access modern and reliable storage, consolidating the economic development of the served regions.
The IDR-Paraná Storage Units therefore represent a strategic link between modernization, efficiency in marketing and sustainability, aligning public and private interests and ensuring lasting benefits for the state agribusiness.
