Training Offers 90 Hours of Content in Biosafety, Good Practices, and Waste Management; Registrations Until August 14
The Federal University of São Paulo (Unifesp) announced the opening of 600 spots for the free and fully online course “Laboratory Safety: Environmental and Occupational Aspects.” The training will take place from August 27 to October 10, 2025, with a workload of 90 hours and flexible access via the Moodle platform.
Aimed at professionals, students, and those interested in enhancing their knowledge on biosafety, good laboratory practices, and waste, the course is self-instructional, meaning no live classes — each participant sets their own study pace. Registrations are open until August 14, or while spots are available.

Why Is This Course Important?
Laboratory safety is a critical area, both from the perspective of worker health and environmental sustainability. Accidents involving chemicals, improper waste disposal, or failures in biosafety protocols can result in serious consequences for people and the environment.
The training offered by Unifesp is distinguished by the academic rigor of a federal institution, combined with the accessibility of free distance learning. It is a real opportunity for technical training for those who work or intend to work in research spaces, clinical analyses, education, or industries with laboratories.
Have you ever faced a risky situation in a laboratory? Do you believe this type of training should be mandatory in institutions and companies? Share your opinion in the comments; your experience can warn and help others.
