An “invisible” plant can transform rivers meeting the sea into electricity 24 hours a day: French startup uses nanotechnology to extract energy from the salt difference between fresh and saltwater, without sun, wind, dam, or fuel.
Furthermore, the solar power plant in MG will avoid the emission of approximately 40,500 tons of CO2 per year, which is equivalent to removing 16,200 combustion cars from circulation.
Unipar CEO Speaks Out
For Unipar CEO Maurício Russomano, the agreement for the construction of the solar power plant in MG with Atlas Renewable Energy demonstrates the company’s commitment to Brazil’s future and business sustainability. The total energy generated for Unipar will be sufficient for chlorine production for water treatment for more than 60 million people.
According to the executive, this is yet another move seeking sustainable solutions that enhance Unipar’s efforts in pursuing energy matrices derived from renewable sources, generating greater competitiveness through self-production and ensuring access to essential inputs for operations.
More Than 1200 Job Opportunities
This operation’s agreement includes a long-term PPA contract lasting 19 years. Additionally, the solar power plant in MG will create 1200 job opportunities in the area.
The project will promote the development and inclusion of local communities, including, for example, training programs for women in the park’s implementation in the MG region.
According to Luis Pita, General Manager of Atlas Renewable Energy for Brazil, the use of sustainable energy is becoming a significant corporate responsibility that can offer various opportunities to large-scale consumers who can start using renewable matrices while also making viable the development of social programs and environments where operations occur.
