The free undergraduate courses offered by the Federal University-UFJF follow the institution’s quota system, divided into nine access groups. Among these, eight are aimed at affirmative actions, while one group is reserved for general competition. The opportunities include:
Licentiate in Computer Science
The course aims to prepare professionals with solid knowledge in computer science for work in Basic Education. In addition, it addresses aspects such as computational thinking, algorithms, digital culture, and interdisciplinary teaching.

Pedagogy
The Pedagogy training prepares educators to work in Early Childhood Education, in the early years of Elementary School, in the literacy of youth and adults, and in Educational Management. Bachelor’s Degree in Public Administration
This course aims to train highly qualified professionals committed to ethics and transparency in public administration. Graduates develop skills to manage public policies and operate in accordance with legislation and government guidelines.

Selection Criteria
Admission to the courses will be based on the analysis of the averages of grades in Portuguese Language and Mathematics, according to the high school transcript. Thus, 80% of the spots will be reserved for the general public, while the remaining 20% will be allocated for public school teachers who are currently employed but do not have a higher education degree or who work in areas different from their original training.
Teachers competing for the exclusive spots will need to prove their employment ties with their respective teaching networks, as well as being properly registered on the Freire platform.
Application Process for Free Courses
Those interested in the free undergraduate courses can apply between February 10 and February 21, 2025, exclusively on the Copese website. After filling out the digital form, it will be necessary to generate and pay the Union Revenue Collection Guide (GRU), in the amount of R$ 150, by the deadline of February 21, 2025, only at Banco do Brasil.
Those who wish to request an exemption from the application fee may do so between February 10 and February 12. During the application process, it is essential that candidates correctly choose the pole where they wish to study.
The final result of the selection process will be announced on the Copese website starting at 4 PM on March 21, 2025. Guidelines on deadlines, required documentation, and details for enrollment will be available on the Academic Records Coordination (Cdara) website. Classes are scheduled to start on April 22, 2025.
