The State University of Maranhão (UEMA) published Edict No. 108/2024 , which regulates the selection process for free online courses (EAD), starting in the first semester of 2025. There are 690 available slots for undergraduate courses, distributed among the university’s campuses, with opportunities for continuing education, professional training, and specialization.
The free courses aim to prepare students with technical skills and competencies geared towards market demands and public service. Classes will be taught online (EAD), with in-person meetings for assessments, updates, and professional practices. Each course includes a combination of activities such as seminars, forums, and assessments, with a total workload adapted to the program’s requirements.

The selection process offers 690 undergraduate slots, distributed among various UEMA campuses, such as São Luís, Imperatriz, Bacabal, Caxias, and others. Candidates for free courses can choose their preferred campus at the time of registration.

Selection Process
The selection will be carried out through a multiple-choice exam and an essay, covering high school content. There is a reservation of slots for affirmative actions, with 10% allocated for Black and Indigenous individuals and 5% for people with disabilities. Requirements For Registration
To participate in the free courses, candidates must have completed high school by the registration date. It is also necessary to have a CPF, an identity document, and internet access to follow the selection process. The registration fee is R$ 60.00, with the possibility of authorization for those enrolled in CadÚnico or dependents of UEMA employees.
