16th ANP Auction Receives 5 More Interested Companies and Matches Number of Participants from Last Round
The auction for the 16th bidding round of the ANP has closed its registrations. The agency has just registered 5 more oil companies, bringing the total number of participants to match that of the 15th round held last year.
The new registrants are Enauta, Murphy Oil, Petrogal, Petronas, and Whintershall DEA, increasing the total number of registered companies to 17. Petrobras Starts Selling Onshore Fields in Amazonas!
The 16th bidding round of the ANP is set to take place on October 10 and will offer exploratory areas in 36 blocks across seven sectors of five maritime sedimentary basins: Pernambuco-Paraíba, Jacuípe, Camamu-Almada, Campos, and Santos, totaling 29.3 thousand km² of area.
The areas, located in the Campos and Santos basins, have been mapped by the ANP, which defined Nemo as the largest lead of the 16th round, with an unrisked volume of 6.87 billion bbl (P50).

Companies have until September 26 to present their bid guarantees, and the ANP expects that contracts from the acquisitions will be signed in February 2020.
