Applications Open and Details of Vacancies

The application period remains open until January 21, 2025. There are availability for up to two vacancies for trainer teachers who will teach in the first semester of 2025 in the subject DERAD 106 – ETHNODEVELOPMENT AND POLITICAL-CULTURAL MEDIATIONS OF THE RURAL WORLD. Main Responsibilities of the Trainer Teacher

The trainer teacher is responsible for a series of duties. Among them, it is deemed essential to make available all stages of the guidance process on the Moodle platform, which is the adopted Virtual Learning Environment. The trainer teacher will also have the role of developing teaching activities aimed at training coordinators, teachers, and tutors using the resources and methods outlined in the training plan. Participating in the guidance activities of the course’s curricular subjects is equally essential.

Moreover, it is expected that the educator engage in working groups that develop methodologies for distance education, promoting a collaborative and innovative teaching environment. Participation and engagement in training activities, focusing on enhancing the use of distance education platforms provided by the educational institution, is another pillar of their responsibilities.

Participation and Coordination in Academic Activities

One of the important functions of the trainer teacher is to coordinate the academic activities of the tutors involved in the subjects or contents under their supervision. It is essential that they promote research for monitoring the teaching practices implemented in distance courses. Finally, it is up to them to prepare semiannual reports, whenever requested, regarding teaching activities in their duties.

Requirements and Selection Criteria

Candidates must meet the rigorous requirements of the simplified selection process, including being a retired civil service teacher from the Federal University of Rio Grande do Sul or a technical-administrative staff member from the same institution. External teachers can apply as stipulated in Article 20 of CAPES Ordinance 309/2024. A complete higher education and a doctorate are mandatory, as well as proof of at least one year of experience in higher education, which must be demonstrated through the Lattes curriculum and additional documents. It is essential to be available to fulfill the responsibilities listed in item 2.2, following the work schedule established by the course coordination.

Remuneration and Workload

The remuneration for the position of trainer teacher will be made through a scholarship from UAB/CAPES, with the monthly amount set at R$ 1,850.00. The number of scholarships to be received depends on the hourly load of the subject in question, with 1 month of scholarship associated with every 15 full class hours. The trainer teacher will be entitled to receive one quota per month, with a maximum limit of six quotas, regardless of the format of the subject’s offering.
