The A0 SUV, internally known as VW246, will be produced at the Taubaté (SP) factory, where it will share the MQB A0 platform with the Polo and Polo Track. Its launch is scheduled for March 2025, following the start of mass production in February of the same year.

Volkswagen Denies Return of the Gol Amid Rumors About New SUV and Its Huge Investment in Factory
Amid rumors about the return of the Gol, Volkswagen clarified that the R$ 1 billion investment in the Taubaté factory is exclusively for the production of the A0 SUV, ruling out any possibility of reviving the Gol name for the new vehicle. The brand reinforced its commitment to transparency and denied the speculations, highlighting that official information about the new investment cycle will be released soon.
Additionally, Volkswagen conducted a clinic with potential customers of the A0 SUV, resulting in a vote to choose the vehicle’s name. Among the options, Tera, Therion, and Hera were the only ones patented by the company at Inpi (National Institute of Industrial Property), suggesting that one of them will be the official name of the awaited A0 SUV.
