Located in the mountains of Malaysia, the massive hotel complex regained its place in the Guinness World Records after expanding its structure to accommodate tens of thousands of guests simultaneously.

The First World Hotel, located in the Genting Highlands of Malaysia, officially holds the title of the largest hotel complex on the planet in terms of accommodations.

With an impressive total of 7,351 rooms, the establishment surpassed international competitors to reclaim its position at the top of the global ranking. The complex stands out not only for its monumental scale but also for its vibrant and colorful architecture that has become a trademark in the mountainous region.

The journey to regain the title of largest hotel in the world

The establishment regained the Guinness World Record in 2015, following the completion of a significant expansion of its original infrastructure. Previously, the title of largest hotel in the world had been held by The Venetian in Las Vegas, but the construction of the new Y3 tower allowed the Malaysian unit to reclaim the lead.

Since its inauguration in 2001, the site has welcomed over 35.5 million guests, establishing itself as one of the most sought-after tourist destinations in Asia.

The expansion carried out about nine years ago added exactly 1,286 new rooms to the 6,065 that already made up the structure of the previous towers. This growth was planned to meet the increasing demand from visitors seeking entertainment and leisure in the mountains of Malaysia. The largest hotel in the world currently operates with a capacity that allows it to host populations equivalent to small cities within its premises.

Infrastructure and technological efficiency in mass service

To manage the constant flow of thousands of daily visitors, the hotel implemented an advanced self-service kiosk system for check-in and check-out.

This technological solution aims to reduce queues and expedite guest entry, functioning similarly to the terminals found in international airports. The operational focus of the largest hotel in the world lies in logistical efficiency, allowing for the continuous and organized processing of guests.

The accommodations are divided into standard rooms, luxury rooms, and suites, designed to offer functionality to tourists visiting the Genting resort. Although the scale is colossal, the management of services such as cleaning and maintenance requires a proportionately vast staff to keep the two towers operational.

The largest hotel in the world serves as the main anchor of a leisure ecosystem that includes casinos, theme parks, and shopping centers.

Integrated entertainment center in the Malaysian mountains

The hotel complex is directly connected to the First World Plaza, a space that encompasses over 46,000 square meters of leisure and retail area. Guests of the largest hotel in the world have immediate access to an indoor theme park, a diverse food court, and dozens of global brand stores. The integration between accommodation and entertainment options allows visitors to carry out all their holiday activities without the need for external travel.

In addition to consumption options, the prime location in the Genting Highlands offers tourists a unique experience due to the cooler mountain climate. The continuous development of the area around the largest hotel in the world reflects the ongoing investment in mass tourism in Southeast Asia.

The structure remains an icon of modern engineering, designed to maximize occupancy and provide entertainment on an unprecedented scale in the global hospitality industry.
