Vacancy Distribution and Age Requirements
As detailed in the public notice, the division of vacancies includes candidates of both sexes, maintaining the traditional proportion adopted in previous selections for entry into the initial military training offered by the Army Cadet Preparatory School.
Of this total, 400 opportunities are for men, with 280 for general competition and another 120 reserved for the quota system, while the remaining 40 vacancies are for women, with a proportional division between the modalities.
In addition to the minimum education required, it is essential that the candidate proves their age within the established limit, as any discrepancy in this criterion may result in automatic elimination during the document verification stages.
EsPCEx Competition Stages
The selection process is structured into several eliminatory and classificatory phases, starting with the Intellectual Exam, considered the main academic filter and responsible for selecting the candidates with the best performance among those registered.
In this stage, objective tests are applied covering subjects such as Portuguese, Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, Geography, History, and English, in addition to an essay aimed at evaluating argumentation skills and mastery of the standard language norm.
Subsequently, those who achieve the minimum required score advance to the complementary stages, which include health inspection, physical fitness exam, and psychological evaluation, each with specific criteria and an eliminatory nature.
During these phases, the organization seeks to verify if the candidate presents physical, mental, and emotional conditions compatible with the demands of a military career, in addition to rigorously checking all necessary requirements for enrollment.
Military Training and Path to Officer
The training of approved candidates will begin in 2027, with entry in the city of Campinas, in the interior of São Paulo, where the Army Cadet Preparatory School is located and where the first cycle of military preparation takes place.
During this initial period, students remain in a boarding school regime, receiving training that combines structured academic education with military instruction, gradually preparing them for the demands of the subsequent career stages.
After completing this first year, students proceed to the Agulhas Negras Military Academy, in Resende, Rio de Janeiro, where they undergo another four years of training as cadets, with technical and operational deepening.
At the end of the five years of training, graduates are declared officer candidates, becoming part of the institution’s permanent staff and able to serve in different branches, corps, and services according to their performance and classification.
Salary, Benefits, and Career Progression
Throughout the entire training period, students receive military remuneration and benefits, including medical assistance, food, accommodation, and uniform supply, which allows for full dedication to academic and operational activities.
Furthermore, the military career structure provides for progression based on objective criteria, such as length of service, individual performance, and participation in advanced training courses throughout the professional trajectory within the Army.
With career advancement, the officer can reach higher ranks within the military hierarchy, assuming command, management, and technical specialization roles in different strategic areas of the institution.
