New Sport Scooter From Yamaha Combines Technology And Performance In Accessible Model

Yamaha has put on the radar of the Brazilian market the Aerox ABS Connected, a new sport-oriented scooter set to arrive at dealerships in January 2026, with a sSuggested price of R$ 18,990 (a value to which the brand states that freight is added).

The launch reinforces the manufacturer’s bet on products focused on connectivity and electronic features, following recent initiatives such as the Neo’s electric and the Fluo with a mild hybrid system.

With a design of more pronounced lines, the Aerox seeks to combine urban use equipment with style elements inspired by sport models.

Yamaha also highlighted the intention to position the product at a higher finishing level within the segment, paying attention to materials and visual details.

Sporty Visual And Premium Signature Finish

The Aerox ABS Connected arrives with fairings that prioritize an aggressive visual and more angular cuts.

Among the elements highlighted by Yamaha are the front fairings with a carbon fiber appearance and the geometric shape rear light, in line with the aesthetic of motorcycles from the R family.

The seat follows the proposal for a more sophisticated appeal. The scooter features a seat with exposed seams, textured in relief, and a two-level design, a solution that, according to the model’s own proposal, tries to reconcile daily use ergonomics with a riding position aimed at those seeking a more sporty drive.

160 Engine With VVA And CVT Transmission For Urban Use

In the mechanical set, the Aerox adopts a 160 cc engine with a DiASil cylinder and a VVA system, which acts on the variation of the valve timing according to the rotation.

According to the numbers provided for the model, the output is 15.4 hp at 8,000 rpm and 1.4 kgfm at 6,500 rpm, always associated with an automatic CVT transmission.

Yamaha also included the Stop & Start system, aimed at reducing consumption and emissions in urban traffic.

In practice, the feature shuts off the engine when stopped and restarts it when the throttle is activated, a common strategy in scooters focused on daily commuting, especially in traffic light and congestion scenarios.

Disc Brakes On Both Wheels And Stability Proposal

The Aerox ABS Connected uses disc brakes on the front and rear, with ABS on the front wheel.

The configuration seeks to balance the sporty proposal with safety concerns, offering anti-lock assistance on the front axle, which usually concentrates most of the braking force.

In the rear suspension, the model features a set with a double Subtank, a solution that aims to reinforce control and stability, especially on uneven surfaces.

The package is completed with 110/80-14 tires in the front and 140/70-14 in the rear, a size that Yamaha points out as the widest in the segment on the rear axle, an element that also aligns with the idea of greater visual presence and grip.

Keyless, USB-C And Cell Phone Integration

The list of electronic equipment is one of the central points of the Aerox. The scooter comes with a Smart Key by proximity, eliminating the need for a traditional key for ignition, and includes the Answer Back feature, which makes it easier to locate the vehicle by activating light signals and an audio alert.

For everyday use, Yamaha added a USB-C socket and a closed storage compartment. Connectivity features are present with Bluetooth integration to the Y-Connect app, used to display vehicle information on the phone.

Among the described functions are tracking of usage data, fuel consumption, alerts related to maintenance, and features related to route recording, in addition to displaying notifications for calls and messages on the panel.

The panel is digital and follows the “blackout” proposal, with indicators dedicated to items such as VVA, ECO, ABS, Stop & Start, and Smart Key status. In terms of lighting, the scooter adopts a full LED set for all functions, enhancing the technological identity of the package.

Dimensions, Storage Capacity Under The Seat, And Usage Data

Structurally, the Aerox uses a Backbone frame. The reported dimensions are 1,980 mm in length, 710 mm in width, and 1,170 mm in height, with a wheelbase of 1,350 mm.

The two-level seat proposal, besides the sporty aspect, also influences ergonomics by separating the areas for the rider and passenger.

Under the seat, the scooter promises to accommodate a full-face helmet, a relevant point in a segment where baggage volume usually weighs in on the purchase decision.

The tank has a 5.5 liters capacity, and the weight in running order was disclosed as 127 kg, with Yamaha positioning the number among the lowest in the category.

Colors, Warranty, And Arrival In Stores

The Aerox ABS Connected is expected to arrive at dealerships in January 2026 in three colors: Racing Blue (metallic blue), Moon Silver (matte silver), and Midnight Black (metallic black).

Yamaha also associates the product with a four-year warranty and the Fixed Price Maintenance program.

With a suggested price below other scooters from the same brand in a similar displacement and a broader connectivity package, the Aerox aims to create space in an audience that wants digital features and sporty style without giving up the practicality of CVT and convenience items for daily use.
