Zelensky Claims That Russia Continues to Reject Peace Proposal. Stalemate in Negotiations Generates Frustration and Prolongs Tension in Conflict. See What Was Said

The President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelensky, again accused Russia of violating ceasefire agreements. According to him, more than 100 Russian drones were shot down by the Ukrainian air defense system in the last hours.

Zelensky stated that the Kremlin continues to ignore peace proposals put forward by international allies. He cited an initiative from the United States, made on March 11, which proposes a complete halt to the attacks.

“Since March 11, there has been a proposal from the U.S. for a total ceasefire, a complete halt to the attacks. And, literally every night, with their bombings, Russia continues to say ‘no’ to the peace proposal from our partners,” said Zelensky.

Escalation of Violence and Damage in Kiev

The attacks launched by Russian drones have caused new damage in Kiev, the capital of Ukraine. For the Ukrainian president, Moscow is intentionally prolonging a conflict that has already lasted three years.

In response to the escalation of violence, he reiterated his call for the United States to expand economic sanctions against Vladimir Putin’s government.

Negotiations Advance with Partial Ceasefire

Meanwhile, a new round of negotiations between Ukraine and Russia for a ceasefire began on Monday (23) in Saudi Arabia. The meetings are mediated by the United States and have led to a partial ceasefire agreement. The parties agreed to protect strategic energy facilities.

The proposal for a total ceasefire, however, still faces obstacles. The U.S. president, Donald Trump, supports the idea, but so far there have been no concrete advances. Even with this signal, the conflict continues.

Zelensky maintains a firm stance against Putin. He holds the Kremlin responsible for the continuation of the war. The United States announced new agreements to prevent attacks in the Black Sea and against energy infrastructure. There is still no definition on when these measures will be implemented.

The Ukrainian government claims that the ceasefire agreements are already in effect. But Russia conditions its adherence to the reconnection of Russian banks to the international financial system.

Although Ukraine’s energy infrastructure has not been hit in recent days, Zelensky stated that Russian bombings violate the spirit of the current peace negotiations.
