With investments that will exceed 50 billion reais, the Saupe Complex announces ambitious projects that will lead the state of Pernambuco to one of the greatest powers of its kind in Brazil in the coming years.

At the end of the 70s, a transformative project began to get off the ground in Pernambuco. The state where the sugarcane industry predominated, started an industrial port between the municipalities of Ipojuca and Cabo de Santo Agostinho, all the governments that followed since then, contributed for the project to consolidate. Today, 40 years later, the Suape Industrial Complex is the main driving force of Pernambuco's economy, with around 100 companies installed or in the process of being installed.

Private investments in the complex add up to more than 50 billion reais. Among the companies already installed are chemical, petrochemical, grain, metalworking, naval, logistics, food and beverage companies, in addition to a Cluster with industries of the main components for the production of wind energy.

Suape stands out among the ports in the north and northeast of Brazil, breaking records in cargo handling operations and housing important projects for the entire regional economy. It is also one of the fastest growing public ports in the country, responsible for distributing cargo to all continents.

With deep waters and a strategic location in relation to the main international maritime routes, Suape is connected to more than 250 ports all over the planet. In its territory of more than 3.500 hectares, it has its own land structure with 44 km of highways under development and modernization that connect the complex to all the states of the Northeast. Suape still has the supply of natural gas, electricity, raw water and treatable water.

In 2017, Suape recorded a cargo handling record with almost 23 million tons handled. It was the public port with the highest cabotage movement in the country and maintained the national leadership of liquid bulk. Among the main cargo handled, the highlight is container handling, with an increase of almost 19% and vehicle cargo, which increased by 46% compared to the previous year. Currently, the port of Suape has the capacity to handle 700 YOUR per annum.
