The recovery of the bridge over the Jequitinhonha River, at km 564.5 of the MGC-367, will have a Stop and Go operation starting this Tuesday (6/30), with traffic in only one lane, control by traffic lights, and an investment of approximately R$ 9.5 million to recover the 186-meter structure.
The recovery of the bridge over the Jequitinhonha River, on the MGC-367, between Diamantina and Couto de Magalhães de Minas, enters a new phase this Tuesday (6/30), with the implementation of the Stop and Go operation on the stretch.
Traffic will have traffic lights and alternating passage
During the execution of the services, traffic will be controlled by traffic lights. The measure will allow vehicles to pass through only one lane, with alternating directions, while the teams work on the structure.
The operation will remain in effect until the completion of the work, expected by the end of this year. During this period, drivers should consider the possibility of delays and adjust their travel plans.

Bridge recovery has an investment of R$ 9.5 million
The bridge is located at km 564.5 of the MGC-367, near the district of Mendanha, in Diamantina. The structure is 186 meters long and is undergoing complete recovery.
The planned investment is approximately R$ 9.5 million. The work aims to ensure better traffic conditions, extend the durability of the crossing, and enhance safety for those who depend on the connection daily.
Built in 1956, the bridge is considered a historical landmark and plays a strategic role in connecting the Jequitinhonha Valley, the North of Minas, the south of Bahia, and Belo Horizonte.
Structure had already received emergency action
In 2022, the bridge underwent emergency interventions after structural damage was identified in one of the pillars. Now, the ongoing work represents the definitive recovery of the crossing.
The intervention also helps maintain regional logistics, impacting the transportation of people, the flow of production, and the population’s access to public services.
