The FPSO Cidade de São Paulo, one of the first units to operate in the Brazilian Pre-Salt and the platform furthest from the coast, 320 kilometers from the Santos Basin, produced its first oil in the Sapinhoá Field in January 2013.
With 11 billion cubic meters of natural gas loaded and 665 million barrels of oil extracted, the asset has been quite successful over the last decade. Located in the northern part of the field, where the well SPH-7D is located, it produces approximately 170,000 barrels of oil per day from 17 producing wells connected to the FPSO Cidade de São Paulo and FPSO Cidade de Ilhabela. The well SPH-7D is widely regarded as the best well in Brazil and one of the best in the world, with a production of 42,000 barrels of oil per day.
