Petrobras Platform Anchored and to Receive Final Adjustments Before Departing for the Pre-Salt of the Santos Basin and Conducting Long-Duration Tests
Petrobras’ FPSO unit, the P-70, which was built in China and left the COOEC shipyard in Qingdao on December 9, 2019, anchored today (24th) in Guanabara Bay, in the state of Rio de Janeiro. The platform will operate in the Atapu field, in the pre-salt of the Santos Basin.

This was the Petrobras unit where the unfortunate accident occurred, in which one worker died and five were hospitalized due to the consumption of ethyl alcohol, motivated by a moment of relaxation among the crew. The body of the employee is expected to arrive in Angra in a few days, more details can be found here. The incident occurred in South Africa, specifically in the city of Durban, about 51 kilometers away from the coast.
The unit impresses those who pass by the bridge and see such a colossal project. The P-70 was towed by the dry tow system by BOKA VANGUARD, from BOSKALIS.
