Volkswagen Got It Right With the New Tiguan. This SUV is bigger, prettier, and fully equipped, bringing a lot of technology, sophistication, and performance. And the best part: it’s built on the new variation of the MQB platform, focused on electrified vehicles.
Visually, the Tiguan is a spectacle. It has grown in every way: it measures 4.70m in length, 2.72m in wheelbase, 1.85m in width, and 1.70m in height. The trunk is generous, with a capacity of 652 liters. In front, the SUV features a bumper with chrome accents, air intakes, and full LED headlights connected by a strip of LED in the illuminated grille.
On the sides, details in Black Piano on the fenders, chrome window trim, and 20-inch diamond-cut wheels add a special touch. And at the rear, the car has an integrated spoiler, a bumper with a chrome detail, and interconnected full LED taillights.

Engine of the New Volkswagen SUV
The new Tiguan offers several engine options to please all audiences. For Europeans, there are diesel and gasoline versions, in addition to hybrids. The diesel options range from 150 to 193 horsepower, while the gasoline versions range from 204 to 265 horsepower. The hybrids, in turn, feature a combination of a 1.5 turbo gasoline engine with a 48V battery, offering up to 272 horsepower in the most powerful configuration.
Safety
In terms of safety, Volkswagen did not hold back. The new Tiguan comes equipped with ACC with adaptive cruise control, lane departure warning, autonomous emergency braking, blind spot alert, animal, pedestrian, and cyclist detection, among many other features that make it one of the safest SUVs on the market.
Will It Come to Brazil?
Unfortunately, we still do not have confirmation if this beauty will arrive in Brazil. In the meantime, Volkswagen is expected to continue with the facelift of the Taos and the replacement of the Tiguan Allspace with the new Tyron next year. But let’s hope the new Tiguan arrives soon!
